Neopets Lab Ray

The secret lab ray isn’t much of a secret nowadays. Many secrets exist on Neopia, many dark places where normal Neopets can’t access freely or have never been to. Is one of these dark corners that bring us together on this guide. A secret base created by a mad Scorchio scientist on the deeps of the ocean, which location can only be found with a special map, but that gives hints of being under the Mystery Island or around the Krawk Island sea. This Scorchio created a high-tech base, with many machines and twisted creations to do his inventions… but between all the gear, one thing stands up: a ray. This ray is so powerful and mysterious, but with time we’ve been able to discover what it can do if you decide to zap one of your Neopets in it. If you are brave enough to complete the map and find the Secret Laboratory, you’ll be allowed to zap one pet a day, unless you buy a Lab Ray Fortune Cookie in the Neomall in hopes of getting some extra daily zaps. The access to the Secret Laboratory is permanent in the account in which you redeem the map, so make sure to visit it daily to use your zap.

In order to have access to the Laboratory you’ll need to complete the Secret Laboratory Map. The Secret Laboratory Map is made out of 9 different ‘Secret Laboratory Map’ pieces all called the same. You can buy them individually on the Shop Wizard or in the Trading Post for the more expensive ones. At the same time, many users sell the full Lab map in the TP but is sometimes more expensive to get it that way than buying them individually (though, much more easy and fast!). You can also get Lab map pieces in random events.

Neopets Lab Ray

Once you have all the map pieces in your inventory you can get access by trading in your map pieces on the map page in the game section. If you decide to do this, the Secret Lab Map pieces will disappear forever, and you will not be able to get them back.

When you have completed the map and you have decided which of your Neopets will be zapped, you will either get one of these changes:

1) Gender change: Your male Neopet will become female, and your female Neopet will become a male. If you previously had a Royal pet, you’ll be getting the new royal clothes of the gender that it has been changed to.

If you wish to change the gender of your Neopet back, you can do it by fighting the Mad Lab Ray Scientist in the Battledome. You get him as a challenger randomly on the page where you select which pet you want to zap in the Laboratory, so you can always refresh such page until the challenger pops up if you need to fight him. His difficulty is of 185 but you don’t need to win in order for the gender change to happen, this will depend on what move he makes and sometimes it might take a couple tries for it to happen.

Know that if you change the gender of your Royal Neopet by battling the Mad Scientist in the Battledome, you won’t be getting new clothes since your pet will remind Royalboy or Royalgirl, just that with the changed gender and eyelashes.

2) Stats change: The lab ray also awards or takes stats points from the zapped Neopets, which is perfect if you plan on training a Battledome pet and need some extra points at times. Your Neopet might gain HP (2 to 5 points at a time), gain or lose levels (2 at a time), gain or lose Strenght points (2 or 3 at a time), gain or lose Defence points (2 or 3 at a time), gain or lose Movement points (2 or 3 at a time) or get it’s Level back to 1, which is the worst stat change. If your Neopet is 40+ level though, this last stat change won’t happen to it!

3) Specie change: You Neopet might also suffer of a specie change, randomly between all the Regular creatable species and also between the Limited ones (Tonu, Chomby, Lutari, Cybunny, Hissi, Koi, Kiko, Grundo, Poogle, Jetsam and Ruki). The only species that the labray doesn’t zap is Draik and Krawk, the so-called Restricted Species.

4) Color change: One of the most seek after zaps, and the reason why most people decide to buy the Secret Laboratory Map is the color changes that it provides. The Lab Ray has some exclusive colors, which are Alien, Clay, Garlic, Ice, MSP, Robot, Sponge, Snot, Chocolate, Jelly, Custard and 8-bit, which don’t have Paint brushes and you can only get with the existing potions (if there are, that is) or with the FFQ, except for Clay, Garlic, Ice, MSP, Robot and Sponge, which the FFQ doesn’t give.

Besides those ones, you can also get the rest of the existing colors, except for Baby, Pirate, Plushie, Quiguki, Royal, and Usuki. At the same time, the Lab ray doesn’t zap Boris to Ice, since this was an exclusive promotional color that can’t be created.

5) Nothing: Pretty lame huh? But yes, there is also a chance of not getting any changes on your daily zap… which might probably save you from accidentally zapping your pet and turning your Draik into a Quiggle.

https://neopets-cheats.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/caption_597.gif

At the same time, it seems the Mad Scientist Scorchio has a petpet that does the same deeds with his fellow specie! You can only access the Petpet Secret Laboratory if you already have access to the Neopets one though, but relax, the cost of this map is much lower than the Secret Lab ray so you won’t have much troubles completing it.

This map also has 9 pieces that you can buy in the shop wizard or trading post and it allows you one zap a day as well. It can change your petpet’s colour, species, increade or decrease it’s level, change your petpet’s name, turn it into a Pile of Soot, do nothing at all or even make it disappear! For this last thing is better if you don’t zap expensive petpets.

https://neopets-cheats.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/featured_104.png

The names that have been documented that the Petpet lab ray can give to your petpet are 1337, Bhudda of Geraptiku, Dirigibles, Dragona’s Socks, El Champion, Fritter, Fritz, Frankie, Goober, Greg, Help me eat, Hilarioso, Humbug, Kadoatie-wannabe, Lazpip, Lemondrop, Lollygag, Lunch, McFritter, Mercutio, Montage, OMGROFL, Oopsy, Pants McGee, Petpet of DOOM, Phil, Pooky, PookyMcDroolish, Pooper, Poppler, Puppup, Rover, Schnukums, Sir Bob of Geraptiku, Skeeter, Snarkie, So-and-So, Spiffy, Times, New Roman, Todd, Tumbles, Type Mismatch Error, Woojit and Your Ad Here.

At the same time, there are sole petpet colors that you can only get with the lab ray, which are 8-Bit, Chocolate, Gold, Ice, Jelly, Picnic, and Strawberry but once you get the petpet out of your Neopet, it will go back to it’s original state.

Secret Lab Ray

You can win avatars for zapping in either of these two Secret Laboratories; for the Neopet one you’ll need to have a specie change zap and for the petpet avatar you’ll need to have your petpet zapped into a Pile of Soot by the Petpet Lab Ray.

Secret Lab Ray Statistics

The Lab Ray provides equal chances for every available color and species for a pet, excluding those specifically ruled out. Over time, you can expect average stat changes: Strength (+0.143), Defence (-0.048), Movement (+0.080), HP (+0.476), and Level (-0.154). If a pet is zapped 100 times, these translate to approximately +14 Strength, -5 Defence, +8 Movement, +48 HP, and -15 Level. Although it’s rare for a high-level pet to revert to level 1, it is possible, with one staff member zapping a pet with a minimum level of 9 over 2,700 times without it resetting. The “doesn’t change at all” outcome only occurs when a pet’s Strength, Defence, or Movement is 7 or lower, or Level is 2 or lower, meaning pets above these thresholds will not experience this outcome. Additionally, outcomes do not vary by time; there are no specific hours that affect their likelihood.

Secret Lab Ray Restrictions

The Lab Ray cannot change your pet into seven specific colors: Baby (requires a Baby Paint Brush), Magma (must be done at the Magma Pool), Origami (needs an Origami Paint Brush), Pirate (requires a Pirate Paint Brush, morphing potion, or magical plushie), Plushie (needs a Plushie Paint Brush), Quiguki (requires an Usuki Paint Brush), and Royal (needs a Royal Paint Brush). Additionally, four species cannot be obtained: Draik, Krawk, Ixi, and Tonu. The Lab Ray also does not affect a pet’s intelligence, height, weight, age, mood, or hunger, nor does it change petpets; for that, use the Petpet Lab Ray. Any Neopet on your account can be zapped, regardless of species, color, age, or other traits.

Neopets Lab Ray Exclusive Only Colors

Certain exclusive colors can only be obtained from the Lab Ray, with no other methods available aside from specific conditions related to the annual Premium species change perk or the Holiday Dream Neopet Giveaway. These colors include Burlap, Ice, Mosaic, MSP, Robot, and Sponge. However, there are exceptions:

  • Bori cannot be changed to Ice, as that color was part of an old sponsor promotion.
  • Ice Hissi can be obtained via a morphing potion, and Ice Draik through a Draik egg.
  • An MSP Poogle can be created using a magical plushie.
  • The One-Use Robotification Zappermajig can transform your pet into a Robot and was initially a No-Trade prize.
  • The 2018 and 2019 Charity Corner “Colour it Wild” perk allowed zapping to any Lab Ray color.

TNT warns that these items are “rare exceptions” and players shouldn’t expect more.

Other colors, often considered Lab Ray colors, cannot be achieved with any item but are also available through Fountain Faerie Quests. These include Alien, Chocolate, Custard, Garlic, Jelly, Mallow, and Snot. Clay and Coconut are mostly accessible via the Lab Ray or Rainbow Fountain, but they each have one item for acquiring them. Additionally, colors achievable with non-paint brush items can also be obtained through both the Lab Ray and Rainbow Fountain, such as fruit and veggie Chia colors and Mutant. The 8-Bit color can be obtained from the Lab Ray but not the Rainbow Fountain.

Lab Ray Fortune Cookie

The Lab Ray Fortune Cookie, introduced on April 26, 2012, is a coveted Neocash item that revolutionizes the way you use the Lab Ray. For 125 NC, this cookie provides a week-long boost of 1-3 extra zaps per day, opening up new opportunities to experiment with your Neopet’s stats, species, and colors. Here’s everything you need to know to get the most out of this item.

How to Use the Lab Ray Fortune Cookie

Activating the Lab Ray Fortune Cookie is simple:

  1. Purchase the cookie for 125 NC from the NC Mall.
  2. Open it from your inventory to activate its effects.
  3. Use your daily extra zaps at the Lab Ray just as you would your regular zap.

Important Notes:

  • This item can only be used on your main account. Side accounts are prohibited from using NC Mall items.
  • You cannot activate another cookie while one is still active; you’ll need to wait for the current one to expire.

Secret Neopets Lab Ray FAQ

The secret lab ray is a very confusing concept to fully understand, (Seeing as though some people who have had the ray for years still don’t understand it themselves.) but can be figured out by constantly using it on a daily basis. The questions that may pop into your head now are, “What is the lab ray anyway?” or “Does it cost anything?” or something else. This part of the FAQ should cover most of those types of questions.

What is the lab ray?
The lab ray, more formally know as the Secret Laboratory, is a magical, “prototype” ray gun aparatus, and when it is shot, it can change your pets species, color, stats, and gender.

How do you get to the lab ray?
Well, you could just click here. However, if you haven’t collected all nine pieces of the Secret Laboratory Map, you won’t be able to find it.

Map?
Yup. There’s a map, like the normal treasure maps that are a waste of money. If you go to the Treasure Maps game in the gamesroom, you’ll see at the top a few categories. Spooky, space, etc… But the last one appears to be “Laboratory.” You must collect all nine pieces of the Secret Laboratory Map to get to the lab.

How much does the map cost?
Usually, the price varies from piece to piece, and is also usually inflating dramatically. As of January 2006, each piece is estimated to be about 55000NP, totaling at a little less than 500000NP.

What exactly does the lab ray do?
The lab ray can change your pets color, species, or gender. It also increases stats, decreases stats, or sometimes, it doesn’t do anything at all.

Do I decide what happens?
Well, since it’s a “prototype,” and since the mad scientist isn’t intelligent enough to figure that one out, no, you can’t decide what happens, it’s completely random.

Is there anything the lab can’t do to your pet?
There are six colors that the lab ray can not paint your pet. They are pirate, baby, plushie, usuki, quiguki, and royal. If you want to paint one of your pets one of these colors, then you should just buy the paint brush.

How many times can I use the lab?
You can use it once each day on one pet.

I’ve heard about a lab avatar…?
Yes, there is a lab avatar, and you get it when the species of your pet changes due to the lab.

Secret Laboratory Map Set

This section of the FAQ should cover most of your questions about the map itself.

What does the map look like?
Like this:

Secret Lab Ray Neopets

Will the map disappear when I put it together?
Yes, it disappears when you put it together.

How do I get the Secret Laboratory Maps?
All you need to do is earn the NP for each piece and then buy it through the shop wizard or the trades.

What’s the cheapest way to buy the map?
Usually, when merchants sell the lab map full on the trades, they’re looking for a profit. If you buy it piece by piece through the shop wizard, you’ll probably end up spending significantly less had you bought it through the trades, so buying it piece by piece is usually cheapest.

Where do I put the map together?!
Right here: Click here!

Do I get anything else when I put the map together?
Yes, you get 10000NP.

Lab Ray Changes

This part of the FAQ will describe what kinds of changes the lab will do, and what it can and can’t do.

Are there any stats the lab won’t touch?
Yes, intelligence and mood are the stats the lap will not effect.

What colors can the lab paint my pet?
Any color of paint brush except pirate, baby, royal, quiguki, usuki, and plushie.

Can my pet turn into a limited edition or restricted pet?
Yes, it can turn into any limited edition or restricted pet.

How long until my pet turns a good color?
For some, it takes a few days, for some, it takes months. It’s completely random as to what you get each day.

My pet’s only losing levels and gaining max HP. What’s wrong?
Nothing. These are common results of the lab ray, but in the long run, it’s usually worth it. =)

Can my pet’s stats go below 1?
Your level can go to -1, but that’s it. Nothing else can go lower than 1.

Will my pet’s faerie abilities disappear if my pet’s level gets too low?
Nope, never. The only exception is the Berserk ability, and you’ll lose that if your pet goes under level 50, but you’ll get it back when you hit 50 again.

Neopets Premium Membership Guide

A Premium membership on Neopets is essentially an upgraded version of a standard account, offering a range of exclusive benefits that enhance the overall gaming experience. While Premium is by no means a requirement for enjoying Neopets, it provides players with valuable tools, bonuses, and content that can make certain aspects of the game more convenient and enjoyable. It’s a great option for players looking to streamline their experience, access rare items, and unlock fun extras that aren’t available to non-Premium members.

While Premium members don’t have an upper hand in terms of gameplay mechanics or competitive advantage, the perks they enjoy are designed to add more fun and variety to their Neopian adventures. From exclusive daily rewards to special in-game items and access to unique features, Premium membership offers plenty of incentives for dedicated Neopets players. Whether you’re looking to speed up your daily tasks, get your hands on unique collectibles, or simply enjoy some extra features to enhance your experience, Neopets Premium offers something special.

In this article, we’ll delve into the world of Neopets Premium, detailing the benefits, costs, and what makes it worth considering for certain players. We’ll also address the common misconceptions about Premium, and provide an overview of the additional content and features that make this subscription option appealing to loyal Neopians. Whether you’re a curious newcomer or a long-time player wondering if the upgrade is right for you, this guide will give you everything you need to know about Neopets Premium!

Neopets PremiumThe Space Faerie is Premium’s mascot.

SIGNING UP FOR NEOPETS PREMIUM

Signing up for Premium is extremely simply. Simply go to the top of your navigation bar and select “Become a Member” from the Premium tab:

Neopets Premium Payment Options

There are three payment options available to users:

Premium Neopets

NOTE: All prices are listed in US dollars. If you do not have a US credit card, you can pay Neopets through a Paypal option. We highly recommend making all payments on Neopets via Paypal.

  • 12 months/1 year of Premium for $69.95 ━ Please note that this is advertised as $5.83 per month, but you must pay for the whole year up front. This means you will make one payment of $69.95 at the time of purchase. This is automatically renewed every year unless you go into your options and specify otherwise.
  • 4 months of Premium for $24.95 ━ Please note that this is advertised as $6.25 per month, but you must pay for all four months up front. This means you will make one payment of $24.95 at the time of purchase. This is automatically renewed every four months unless you go into your options and specify otherwise.
  • 1 month of Premium for $7.95 ━ This is the monthly Premium plan, meaning you will be billed once a month for $7.95 and can cancel anytime. This is automatically renewed every month unless you go into your options and specify otherwise.

After you select an option, you will be asked to enter your password (for security purposes) before being re-directed to the payment options.

Paying for Neopets Premium

You can pay for a Premium membership one of two ways:

  • Credit or debit card payment ━ You will be asked to enter your credit and debit card information and personal information as if you were making any other online purchase. You will be asked if you would like to save your card information before checking out. We highly recommend never asking Neopets to save your information for a “faster checkout” next time.
  • Paypal ━ While this guide is not an advertisement for Paypal, this is a much more secure payment system than Neopets so we do recommend it. Accounts are free, and you can process your credit or debit card information through it, meaning you do not need to take out a line of credit with Paypal to use its services.

You may notice this when you are checking out:

You do have the right to be concerned over the fact that the URL is not considered secure. Neopets does have security, but it is currently more vulnerable than most modern secure payment systems. This is simply yet another reason why we recommend the Paypal payment option.

Manage your new account and Canceling Neopets Premium

To check the status of your account, payment plan, and to change your auto renewal options, visit Manage Your Membership under the same Premium tab in the nav bar. Here, you can choose to cancel your Premium membership, which will take effect at the end of your current pay period. This means if you create a Premium account on June 1st and pay $7.95, and then cancel your Premium account on June 2nd, you will still have Premium all throughout June because you paid for one month of Premium.

*** WARNINGS ***

The first thing any Neopets players knows is that neopets.com is not a perfect place. In fact, it’s buggy, it’s laggy, and JumpStart, the company that now owns the website, is not a fan favorite. As Neopets is a very old site with… how do you say… less-than-stellar technologies, there have been many serious issues with payment options. We are in no way attempting to sway you one way or the other about whether Premium is worth it — you can read the next section and decide that for yourself! That being said, it is very important that the common issues with Premium are clear to you before you put your account and personal information on the line.

Common Premium payment issues

  • Multiple billings for a payment period (i.e. being charged $7.95 two times for a single month)
  • Billings continuing even after cancellation
  • Sudden and unplanned cancellations
    • Remember, if you are taking advantage of the fifth pet slot and your membership is cancelled, you will be asked to either renew your Premium membership or transfer/pound one of your pets on the spot ━ this cannot be delayed and you will have to choose one or the other in order to play on your account.
  • Premium perks and toolbar taking up to two weeks to appear, even after a payment has clear
  • Responses to issues regarding Premium and payments taking upwards of 6 months to a year

Sending in a ticket about a Premium issue

If you have any sort of issue with your Premium membership — including payment issues — you should send in a ticket as soon as possible with every detail of important information that you can remember. Simply go to the Help section (at the nav bar at the bottom of any Neopets page) and select Submit a Ticket.

While there was once the guarantee of faster ticket response for Premium (“paying”) members, there is no indication that, currently, TNT responds to one ticket subject faster than any other ticket subjects.

  • The only instance in which ticket responses are notably faster are after users have filed claims with Paypal. This means that a user was billed too many times or billed after canceling their Premium membership, and Paypal gets into contact with Neopets for having essentially “stolen” money from someone. Of course, Neopets wants to avoid any sort of legal trouble, so they tend to respond to these issues much more quickly!
  • Other methods for having a ticket responded to more quickly is to post on the Neopets Facebook page, and make sure to always leave your ticket number in your comment. Briefly explaining your issue and how long you’ve waited can illicit a response from TNT. You can also email them at support@neopets.com; make sure not to spam their email or they are less likely to respond to you!

THE PERKS OF NEOPETS PREMIUM

Now that we’ve covered all of the super risky, annoying, and downright unacceptable issues that could arise (they don’t for everyone!), let’s talk about what you actually get for all of that trouble and money — and surprisingly, it’s a lot!

Premium Toolbar

The first thing you’ll notice with your new Premium account is what is called the Premium toolbar, found at the bottom of your screen:

Here, you’ll have convenient access to many things on the site that you’d usually need the top navigation bar or Explore tab to find. For example, you have immediate access to Super Shop Wizard, a tab with your dailies, and bank and shop till balances.

premium neopetsThe yellow rectangle is for Cheeseroller… without a reminder, I’ll never get that avatar!! *shakes fist*

Your Dailies tab is customizable, so you can decide which dailies appear and in what order. You can even pick up to six dailies that are not offered by this tab’s options, like what I did with Cheeseroller in the image above.

neopet premiumHmm… my stock aren’t doing too well…

Your Bankroll tab is very useful for keeping an eye on your finances, and does you a favor by adding the amount of NP you have between your bank, shop till, and on-hand. You can also manage your stock portfolio with just a glance!

The other icons in your toolbar link to the Premium game of the day, Create-A-Pet Page, Space Faerie scratchcards, Premium collectible cards, the Premium NeoBoards, and the Premium FAQ/help page.

Super Shop Wizard

One of the most-used — if not the most-used — perks of Premium is Super Shop Wizard, very often referred to by its acronym SSW. Unlike Regular Shop Wizard, which only searches a certain number of shops in Neopia at once, you can get the cheapest prices for any searchable item on the entire site via SSW.

No one wants to pay more for those dastardly Eo Codestones than they have to…

Most buyable (under 100k) items in the game are dictated by SSW. This means that if an Eo Codestone, for example, is listed as roughly 15,500 NP on SSW, it is unlikely an Eo Codestone priced at 20,000+ will sell any time soon.

Premium Neoboards

There are special NeoBoards accessible only to Premium members. You can access these boards by going directly to them (via your toolbar) or going to Neoboards in the general navigation bar (under Community) and then clicking “Premium Boards!” The image below shows this link’s location:

The Main Hall is the general board accessible to all Premium members, whereas the Charter board is for Premium members of 4mo+. The Premium boards are all-around much slower than the active, all-player Neoboards, such as the Pound Chat, NC Mall Chat, Avatars/NeoSignatures Chat, and Newbie Chat.

Fifth Pet Slot

In a very rewarding turn of events in 2012, TNT began allowing the site’s Premium members to adopt and transfer up to five pets on one account instead of four.

As mentioned before, the fifth slot only exists as long as you have a Premium membership. If you cancel your membership or your membership is not automatically renewed, you will be given three options upon logging into the site:

  • Renew your Premium membership and retain your fifth pet slot
  • Transfer one of your five pets to a side account
  • Pound one of your five pets
    • If you chose this option and pound one of your pets, it will not go straight to the pound. Instead, the pet will remain in a “limbo” — off of your account but not in the pound — for 90 days. No one will be able to re-adopt it but you during those 90 days. If you do not re-adopt the pet, it will be up for grabs in the pound.

Space Faerie Scratchcards

Every Friday, Premium users are gifted special scratchcards that can be accessed via the toolbar (the Space Faerie icon). Because they can only be accessed via this link and not through your inventory, they cannot be sold or traded.

The prizes include Neopoints — generally between 1,000 and 5,000 NP — and a Space Faerie item.

If you do not use your scratchcard before the next Friday rolls around, have no fear! You can simply stack your scratchcards as long as you like. As you can see in the picture above, I have five unused cards. Many people hoard their cards to use with the Full Pockets Premium Boon, available to Premium members after winning a round of Battleground of the Obelisk. This boon increases the likelihood of a good prize from the Premium scratchcards.

boon_fullpockets-3658745Full Pockets

Extra Random Events

With Premium, you may notice that you’re getting Random Events (REs) all the time. It turns out that the Space Faerie is very generous! These random events are always good news: you either find some NP (usually between 1,000 and 3,000 NP) or an item “falls” from space (up to r75). Thanks, Space Faerie!

newpremium_shh-2332224

Premium Featured Game

Everyday on the site, there is a featured game in which users can win x2 the amount of NP as usual! (You can see which game this is everyday by going to the Games Room via your navigation bar and then clicking “Featured Game.”) Premium users are given a second featured game everyday! This can be accessed via the Featured Game tab of the Premium toolbar.

My favorite!

Birthday Training

Generally, a pet receives free training at the Swashbuckling Academy when it is their specific pet-themed day (you can see a calendar here). For Premium members, pets also receive free training at the Academy on their individual birthdays! To check your pet’s birthday, simply go to it’s lookup and it can be located under their age.

NC Monthly Collectibles

One of the most coveted perks that make Premium “worth it” for many users is the addition of a monthly NC collectible item awarded on or around the 15th to all Premium members. These items are only released this one time and never again, so many are well sought-after and become worth more over time. Users receive a neomail and the item is immediately placed in their inventories on the day the collectible is released.

To get a taste of what sorts of items are given out, here are some past collectibles that are quite popular:

February 2013 October 2013 January 2014 December 2014 May 2015 August 2015
Premium Collectible: Opalescent Wig Premium Collectible: Spiky Black Lace Cape Premium Collectible: Heart Contacts
Premium Collectible: Holiday Boat Ride Background
Premium Collectible: Stone Bridge Foreground Premium Collectible: Blue Moon Field Background

It is relatively common practice for users to buy Premium for one month (and immediately cancel it) if they particularly like a Premium Collectible item or know it will eventually be worth more than ~$8 in NC trading.

If you purchase Premium after the Premium Collectible for the month has been released but before a new month has rolled over (the 16th-30th/31st of the month), you will be given the NC item upon paying for a membership.

Battledome: The Cosmic Done

Activating a Premium account will unlock a special dome in the BD called the Cosmic Dome. Its two opponents are Giant Space Fungus and Jetsam Ace, the latter of whom is famous for giving away Nerkmids. These two opponents simply appear under your “FIGHT” tab in the Battledome once Premium is active.

Premium Site Theme, Space Faerie Charm, and Avatar

Upon registering, you’re immediately awarded with a special site theme, avatar, and “charm” that appears on your lookup like a trophy! Read more below.

AVATAR – PREMIUM SPACE FAERIE

This avatar is automatically awarded when you sign up for a Premium membership.

Before 2012, users had to refer a certain amount of people to Premium. Now, referrals are not needed to obtain a Premium membership therefore the requirements for the avatar were changed.

NOTE: If, for any reason, you cancel your Premium membership or it is not renewed, you will lose this avatar. Remember that is does not count towards your total avatars – whether you have it or not – but it will not be available to use on the Neoboards. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

NOTES

  • Never feel pressured to have Premium!!! Having a Premium account does not mean you cannot play the game as well as other people, and it does not make you more or less impressive to anyone. If you genuinely enjoy the perks of Premium and it is something you can realistically afford or feel comfortable paying for, then by all means, Premium away! Never feel as though you need to justify your reason for or for not having a Premium membership. If you witness peer pressure or shaming, report this as harassment.

  • If you had to cancel your Premium account and lost access to perks such as your pre-set Dailies Tab and Premium NeoDeck, these things will reappear once Premium is renewed — even if this is at a much later date.
  • The FAQ for Premium users is not currently available. The Premium Help NeoBoard is available, as well as the general ticket submission.
  • Premium used to be quite different.

Neopets Stat Increasers

Neopets stat increasers are vital for boosting your Neopets’ abilities, especially as your pet advances in level and training times lengthen. These items cater primarily to wealthier Neopians who wish to avoid the time-intensive process of completing training courses. By using stat increasers, players can enhance their pets’ stats quickly and efficiently, minimizing the grind of Codestone-based training or extended wait times at training facilities.

How to Increase Level with Stat Increasers

Increasing your Neopet’s level is essential for unlocking higher training tiers and accessing advanced Battledome strategies. While traditional training schools like the Mystery Island Training School and the Swashbuckling Academy can gradually level up your Neopet, stat increasers provide a faster alternative for those with sufficient Neopoints. Items such as Radiant Coltzan Neggs are particularly effective, as they increase your pet’s level by 1 upon consumption. Additionally, Level Up Potions, though rare, can provide instant level increases. Using these items strategically can help bypass lengthy training sessions, especially as the time and cost per level rise dramatically at higher levels.

How to Increase Hit Points with Stat Increasers

Boosting your Neopet’s Hit Points (HP) is crucial for Battledome success and overall survivability. Stat increasers like Sneggs, Power Neggs, and Blue Sand are excellent for this purpose. A Snegg can provide 2–3 HP, while Power Neggs grant 3 HP per use. If you aim to maximize daily gains, feed your Neopet multiple Neggs throughout the day when their hunger level permits. For a pricier but faster alternative, consider using Elixirs of Life, which instantly boost HP by 5–10 points. These options are ideal for players seeking rapid stat increases without waiting for training sessions.

How to Increase Strength with Stat Increasers

Strength is a vital stat for dealing significant damage in the Battledome. Stat increasers like Strength Neggs and Vigor Juices are excellent tools for enhancing this attribute. A Strength Negg increases your Neopet’s Strength by 1, while Vigor Juices provide a smaller but cost-effective boost. For high-level players, investing in Faerie Food items such as the Strength-Building Faerie Food can be a fun and thematic way to boost stats. Combining these methods allows you to rapidly enhance your Neopet’s battle prowess, minimizing the reliance on Codestone-based training.

How to Increase Defence with Stat Increasers

Defence is critical for reducing damage from opponents in the Battledome. Items like the Armoured Negg are a popular choice, granting 1 Defence point while also providing a Battledome item for added utility. For a more substantial boost, you can use items like Earth Faerie Stat Boosts, which occasionally increase Defence when purchased from the Hidden Tower. To maximize gains, feed your Neopet Defence-specific Neggs regularly throughout the day, ensuring their hunger levels are low enough to consume multiple Neggs.

How to Increase Movement with Stat Increasers

While Movement may not be as crucial for battling, it’s essential for various site features and events, such as participating in specific plot activities or games. Stat increasers like Sneggs and Speedy Neggs are great for enhancing Movement stats. A Snegg provides 2–3 Movement points, while a Speedy Negg increases it by 1. For players aiming to prioritize this stat, feeding these items to your Neopet consistently throughout the day can yield significant improvements in a short period. While training schools can also improve Movement, these items offer a quicker alternative for impatient Neopians.

Neopets Neggs: A Popular Stat Increaser

Neopets Neggs are among the most accessible and versatile stat increasers in the game. Feeding a Negg to your pet can boost its stats significantly, depending on the type of Negg used. For best results, it’s advisable to feed Neggs to a pet that is very hungry, as this allows for quicker consumption without the need to wait for hunger levels to reset. This strategy can maximize the number of Neggs consumed in a day and significantly boost stats.

For example, the popular Snegg, priced at approximately 100,000 NP on the Trading Post, offers 2–3 points each in Health and Agility. While this may seem expensive at first glance, Sneggs save both time and Neopoints when compared to traditional training. For pets at higher levels (e.g., level 240), training requires seven Codestones per stat point, which can cost around 60,000 NP and take 24 hours for completion. With Sneggs, players can bypass these costs and time constraints, gaining multiple stat points in a single day.

Maximizing the Effectiveness of Neggs for Increasing Strength, Defence, Movement and Hit Points

Consider this scenario: if you feed your pet Sneggs continuously throughout the day, respecting the hunger cooldown intervals, you could achieve between 48 and 72 Health Points (HP) or Agility Points in one day. This dwarfs the single stat point typically earned through daily training. Other specialized Neggs offer unique benefits; for instance, the Armoured Negg provides one Defense Point and includes a bonus Battledome item. If you feed your pet Armoured Neggs hourly, you could gain up to 24 Defense Points daily, albeit at a hefty cost of approximately 1.5 million NP.

These options may seem extravagant, but for players with ample Neopoints, the trade-off between cost and time savings is invaluable. Neggs also provide variety in the stats they enhance, giving players more control over their pet’s growth compared to standard training methods.

Types of Neggs and Their Effects

Different types of Neggs influence specific stats, making it crucial to choose the right ones for your pet’s needs. Below are some examples of Neggs and their effects:

  1. Snegg: Grants 2–3 Health and Agility points. A great all-around stat booster.
  2. Armoured Negg: Adds 1 Defense Point and includes a Battledome item. Ideal for Battledome enthusiasts.
  3. Strength Negg: Increases Strength by 1 point. Useful for offensive boosts in combat.
  4. Speedy Negg: Enhances Speed by 1 point. Great for pets aiming to outrun their opponents.
  5. Rainbow Negg: Alters your pet’s color while potentially changing a stat. This is a more aesthetic choice than a stat-boosting one.

Recommendations for Negg Usage for Increasing Stats

When selecting Neggs, focus on your pet’s specific needs and goals. If you aim to prepare your pet for the Battledome, prioritize Neggs that boost Health, Strength, and Defense. However, avoid Neggs with secondary effects (such as changing your pet’s color) unless you’re prepared for those alterations. Always research each Negg’s benefits and drawbacks before investing, as some may not align with your objectives.

By leveraging Neggs effectively, players can build formidable pets in a fraction of the time required for traditional training methods. Whether your focus is on battling, customization, or overall improvement, Neopets Neggs remain an indispensable tool for ambitious Neopians.

List of All Negg Stat Increasers

Happy Negg. This first negg will be priced at 4 Negg Tokens and it will, in a short summary, increase the happiness of your pet(s). This Negg is not really recommended to have, as you can easily purchase a toy at the Neopian shop wizards for as low as 1 NP, or get them for free through random events, then play with your pet to increase its happiness to its max. Since happiness is not really an important factor for the Battledome, you may want to save your NP for something else.

neopets Stat Increasers

Swift Darkfire Negg Bomb. This Negg, at the cost of 4 Negg Tokens, will give you the possibility to do a total of 5 air, dark, and fire icons during the Battledome and this Negg is a one use time only. Since this Negg is more like a weapon than a stat increaser, you may want to forget it if you have a strict and limited budget to purchase stat neggs with.

Stat Increaser

Darksplash Negg Bomb. At the cost of 4 Negg Tokens, the Darksplash Negg Bomb will also do damage during the Battledome, just like the Swift Darkfire Negg Bomb, but with different icons. This one will do a total of 5 dark, physical and water icons and can also be used only once. Again, because it will not give you stats, you may want to forget it at the moment if you currently have a limited budget.

increase stats neopets

Glamour Negg. For 7 Negg Tokens, this Negg will increase your pet’s happiness and will also give you a prize reward which can be a Gold Brush, Mirror, or a Shampoo that are all grooming items (for the mood of your pet). The intelligence of your pet will also decrease by 1. This is not recommended as not only it is not a Battledome stats increaser, but it will also remove intelligence from your pet which is fundamental if you are training his agility, to steal weapons from your opponents during the advanced battles.

increase hit points neopets

Smiley Negg. For 9 Negg Tokens, just like the Happy Negg, this will increase the happiness of your pet. For previously mentioned reasons, you may want to leave this one where it is and save your NP for better Neggs.

increase defence neopets

Negg of Purity +1. Because they are priced at 10 Negg Tokens, and are relatively cheap, the Neggs of Purity +1 are recommended if you like taking gambles, because they can increase the defence of your current pet by 1. Since they will not be able to hurt your pet or do something to it in the negative way, you will want to purchase a good amount of those if you have the NP and if you’re looking for defence points. Not a fan of gambles? Nothing to worry about, some of the Neggs that will be presented later will be also able to provide defence points without going through gambles.

increase strength neopets

Wicked Negg. For 10 Negg Tokens, you will waste your NP as this Negg is just a food that does absolutely nothing. You can find a variety of food types, on the site, that are obtainable for free and that can be bought from shops at 1 NP. For this reason, you may want to keep your NP for effective Neggs. Also, who would want of a Wicked Negg?

negg_evil-5531761

Pumpkin Negg. Actually, it doesn’t have to be Halloween to purchase / feed your pet with this. At the price of 12 Negg Tokens, this will increase the pet’s weight and decrease your pet’s height by respectively 1 to 2 lbs and 1 to 2 cm. Of course, in real life weight will really matter to determine whether or not a fighter is resistant. For pets, defence points are really what you should worry about and not the rest. Since this Negg will not provide significant Battledome stats, you may want to find something else to hunt.

negg_spooky_pumpkin-8017331

Blue Furry Negg. For 15 Negg Tokens, the Blue Furry Negg will heal your pet with 5 hit points when it is outside of the Battledome, meaning that if it is currently not in a Battle. Why would you want to spend your NP for 5 HP when you can go to the Healing Springs located in Faerieland and receive, there, free healings? Pass on that.

negg_bluefurry-6074582

Armoured Negg. Priced at 16 Negg Tokens, these will increase the defence of your pet by 1 point, and it will also give you a shield for you to use. The shields can be an Omelette Shield, Shoulder Armour, Nurias Battle Shield or Scamander Shield. Since this Negg is a buyable item, if you’re going after some serious defence healing for your high leveled pets, you may want to consider purchasing it.

armorednegg-6545541

Sweet Heath Negg. Costing 18 Negg Tokens, the Sweet Heart Negg will award you with an ice cream or candy item that is completely random. It is currently useless for the Battledome.

negg_sweetheart-6486938

Crystal Negg. Their price is 22 Negg Tokens. These will, once fed, heal your pet with a total of 8 hit points when you are currently not battling, meaning outside of the Battledome. Again, you can visit the Healing Springs in Faerieland if you’re looking after some serious HP heals.

negg_crystal-7108927

Ghost Negg. This particular Negg will do nothing to your Neopets and is just a food that can be eaten in a regular basis. You may want to pass on this.

negg_spooky_ghost-5865006

Genius Negg. At the price of 24 Negg Tokens, not only they will increase your pet’s intelligence by 1 to 3 points, but you will receive a Book for simply feeding it to your pet. Because it is expensive for few intelligence points, this is not really needed to earn BD stats.

negg_genius-2852418

Vortex Negg. The Vortex Negg is more like a gamble, for 24 Negg Tokens, that gives you the chance to increase or decrease by 1 point the maximum health points your pet currently has. IMPORTANT: This item can also turn your pet into a blue, green, red or yellow basic color. Avoid it at all cost, unless you really don’t mind about the color of your pet and can paint him/her later.

negg_vortex-9924102

Christmas Tree Negg. At the price of 27 Negg Tokens, this Negg will heal you with 20 HP. Again, visit the Healing Springs if you are looking for healings.

negg_christmastree-2595900

Staring Negg. For 30 Negg Tokens, the Staring Negg will decrease the intelligence of your pet by 10 points. Unless you’re doing a competition to reach the pet with the less intelligence possible, you may want to forget about this Negg.

negg_spooky_eye-9550882

Bang Bang Negg. This one will give you a snowball that is very random. 33 Negg Tokens.

negg_bangbang-7963446

Fireball Negg. This is more like a weapon. It will do a maximum amount of damage, during a battle, of four fire icons. This is not really useful to boost BD stats.

neggys17-7071613

Icestorm Negg. This Negg will do 1 physical icon during the Battledome. Not a stat booster.

neggys16-2577059

Spinning Negg. This particular Negg, who costs 36 Negg Tokens used to give your pet the Air Shield Faerie ability. However, this will not do anything currently.

negg_spinning-7900124

Basic Power Negg. At the price of 39 Negg Tokens, this Negg will increase the defence of your pet by 1 point. Since this is more expensive than the Armoured Negg, which does the same effect, and will not grant you a shield, this is not really recommended as you can waste a good amount of NP on it.

basicpower-4655688

Evil Negg. This is a weapon that will do 3 dark icons, along with 1 physical during a Battle at the cost of 42 Negg Tokens. Not required to boost stats.

evilnegg-3157204

Witchy Negg. A really gambling Negg. For 48 Negg Tokens, this will give you a chance to change the gender of your pet, to raise their intelligence, HP, cure them, or transform them to a Lenny, Moehog or Tuskaninny. Chances that you actually receive HP are very slim, and you will most likely turn your pet into a specie that you don’t want. For that reason, don’t waste your NP on this.

negg_spooky_witch-7884984

Kaleideonegg. At 52 Negg Tokens, this will change the color of your pet to the four basic ones, and there is a chance to increase the number of HP or level of your pet by 1. Again, this is a gamble for a high amount of NP, which is not recommended for obvious reasons.

negg_kaleideonegg-2317291

Faerie Queen Neeg. One of the most sought after Neggs, at the cost of 57 Negg Tokens, you will find this for a hundred of NP or less if you buy them in bulk. This will increase the maximum amount of HP of the fed pet by 1. Very useful for higher end pets and this is really a good choice to put your NP on.

negg_faeriequeen-4568028

Rainwater Negg. This Negg used to give your pet a Steam Shield Faerie Ability, but it has currently stopped to do anything at all because of the new BD. Not something to look after.

neggys1-9788052

Confusionegg. Used, for 64 Negg Tokens, to give your pet a Psychic Blast Faerie Ability and does nothing at this time.

confusion-1515801

Radioactive Negg. Used, for 66 Negg Tokens, to give a random Faerie Ability, which doesn’t anymore at this time.

negg_radioactive-2191509

Silver Knight Negg. For 72 Negg Tokens, this will increase the defence of your pet by 1 to 2. Think again: why would you want to pay much more NP to purchase a Negg that gives 1-2 defence points, when you can simply buy two Armoured Neggs for way cheaper? Not recommended.

negg_knight-7447507

Power Negg. Strength can be expensive to train up. The Power Negg, at 79 Negg Tokens, gives you the possibility to raise it. A good choice to look forward after training up defence points.

negg_power-6923446

Cracked Negg. For 90 Negg Tokens, this will Heal your pet with 3 HP, take them out, or will inflict 3 light and dark icons. This is more like a weapon, which is not recommended in this case.

cracked_negg-3465629

Crackling Negg. Does Nothing.

darknessnegg-1379677

Plaid Negg. Can change the colour of your pet. Avoid it at all cost.

negg_plaid-7411552

Ferocious Negg. At 124 Negg Tokens, this will ad 1 to 3 strength points to your pet, along with a random disease. Since the disease is easily curable, and that not many Neggs will provide STR points, this is good to go after if you have the NP.

angry_negg-1966239

Snegg. Use this Negg if you would like to go through the old increasing way. This Negg will not only increase your HP by 2-3 points, but will also increase your Agility by 2-3 points, and therefore it is one of the most recommended Neggs to seek.

negg_snegg-9109313

Spiked Negg. At 195 Negg Tokens, this will give you 1-3 HP. For the price, you should really go after the Snegg, as it will give you a better advantage (because of agility) and will cost you generally cheaper.

food_spikenegg-9685085

Super Negg. Expensive Negg at the price of 210 Negg Tokens. This will increase the intelligence of your pet by 1, HP by 1-3 and agility by 1 to 3 points. Not worth the price, you should really look forward Sneggs, Armoured Neggs and Ferocious Neggs.

food_supernegg-6062576

Cool Negg. This Negg will increase the level of your pet by 1 to 2 HP, 1 to 3 agility, and 1 to 3 strength points. 247 Negg Tokens is really expensive too. The effect is perfect if you can afford the price.

food_coolnegg-5837105

Other Stat Increasers

Alternatively, you can use various potion, for example, like the Altador Strength Potion which will grant your pet a total of 5 strength points. The potions are usually more expensive and it will not be required to pay attention the hunger of your pet. Other than that, there is the Bubbling Fungus that will give you the chance of adding up to 5 strength points to your pet, or losing a maximum of 3 points. Even if this is a gamble, you have good chances to increase your pet’s stats with this item.

Mushroom Stat Increasers

There used to be a time when you could purchase various Mystal Mushrooms through shops in order to train up your pets and get some serious benefits: they used to be so cheap that many people were able to afford them. The Apothecary is where they used to restock, and they gave a random effect to your pet. Even if they currently not restock anymore for the fact that they are now retired, you are always able to purchase the Mushrooms from other Neopians through the Shop Wizard, Trading Post and you can even get them through Auctions. Since they are retired, they increased in their particular rarity and price every day, at a point where you will have a hard to time to purchase them.

Below is a like of the Mystic Mushrooms along with their effects, which will give you a better idea about what you should go for, and what not to seek after. Note that you will also need a good amount of NP to purchase these, making it harder for average Neopian to get them.

Blue Healthshroom. This mushroom, as its name says, will heal your pet by healing it with a total of 1 maximum hit point. Since there are many healing potions at low prices, or even the Faerie Springs in Faerieland that is completely free, purchasing the Blue Healthshroom to heal your pet will be plain ridiculous, unless you would like to collect it, of course.

mushroom10-8471049

Green Healthroom. This mushroom also heals your pet, but this time, with a maxium of 11 hit points instead of 1, which is an additional 10 HP. Again, it would be a waste of NP to seek this particular item, thus it is preferable to directly go after the Healing Springs or after a cheaper Healing Potion. Unless you are a collector, you do not want to spend a large amount of NP on something you can get for free.

mushroom12-9986909

Green Toadstool. The Green Toadstool will heal your pet with a total of 3 HP. Again, just like the two mushrooms seen before, these mushrooms are retired and will in fact require you to spend a big amount of NP to get them. For that reason, you do not want to purchase these. Even if you’re one of the wealthiest Neopians, why would you want to purchase something that is expensive to use, where you could purchase something that is way more cheaper? For that reason, it is not recommended, also because it will not add BD stats to your pet.

mushroom16-1168349

Level Up Shroom. This mushroom will raise the level of your pet by 1 point, which is considerable. Since the amount of Neggs that will grant 1 level are limited, it is recommended that you purchase the Level Up Shroom when you have the NP.

mushroom1-1801450

Mega Power Plusshroom. This mushroom will give your pet an additional point, which can be added to his strength, level or HP. For this reason, the Mega Power Plusshroom is something recommended to look after, but you will mostly not find these anymore, or if you do, they would be worth hundreds of thousands, or even millions of NP. Only recommended for wealthy Neopians.

mushroom17-5521730

Poisonous Mushroom. The Poisonous Mushroom will give your pet a disease, which is Neopox. Who on his right mind would want to give a disease to his pet? Not only that, but to spend to spend a large amount of NP to do so? This mushroom is not recommended at all.

mushroom9-8150181

Purple Spotted Shroom. That particular Shroom will give you the chance to heal your pet by 3 HP, which is useless, receive 1 HP and 1 STR point. Note that the Purple Spotted Shroom is so rare that you will most likely not find it through the TP, which is why you should stick with Neggs (refer to the guide at the top) if you’re looking forward training HP or STR points.

darkfaerie_shroom1-7387447

Strength Shroom. This mushroom will give you from 1 to 3 strength points. Again, it is recommended only if you have the NP. 1-3 STR points is very good, but considering the fact that it will cost you a lot just to find one of them, you would be better going after Altador Strength Potion or even taking a gamble with the Bubbling Fungus.

mushroom2-7395925

Super Fast Shroom. This mushroom will give an additional 1 agility point to your pet. Literally, you can purchase a Snegg which will cost you probably even less, and will not only raise the agility of your pet by 2-3 points, but also its HP by 2-3 points. In this case, Sneggs would be really the way to go.

mushroom3-7134780

Yellow Healthshroom. This particular mushroom will heal your pet by 15 HP and will cure your pet from any disease. It would be better to go and heal your pet through the Healing Springs (in Faerieland) and see if you are lucky enough to get him/her cured. You will spend a lot of NP on a “curing item” when cures will cost much less NP, even the pricier ones.

mushroom19-8781369

Finally, there are many ways to increase the stat of your pet(s) without having to go through a long training, and this is perfectly recommended if you have the NP.

Neopets Sewage Surfer Guide

Sewage surfer is a puzzle game. You will be presented with a puzzle and have to place the pipes to complete a circuit from the start to the exit without any gaps. All the possible pieces are below:

The gamepage looks like this:

1. The puzzle – this is where you place the pieces with a left click
2. The next pieces for placing
3. The number of discards you have left for the level
4. Quit the game (do not press!)
5. Restart the level
6. Start the flow (only press when you have completed the puzzle)
7. Discard piece – discards the next piece so you don’t have to use it

There are some important items to note:

• On each level you will only get certain pieces. For example, many levels do not have the 4-way piece available
• When you play a level, the order in which you are given pieces and the mix of pieces will, in most instances, change if you replay the level. For example, first time through you may get:

Second time through you may get

• If you fail a level or choose to restart a level you lose 50 points. A gold trophy score is in the region of 30,000 so its not the end of the world and it is very unlikely you will do all 50 levels without having to restart some puzzles, and often will have to restart the same puzzle a few times
• Sometimes the game gives you pieces which are impossible to complete the level with. It’s annoying but there is nothing you can do about it except restart and hope for better pieces next time
• If you have run out of discards you can place pieces into blank spaces you don’t need instead. These pieces lose you points

Avatar

There is an avatar available for sewage surfer sewage_surfer-7385590

To obtain this you have to play all the way through to level 50 and then quit. It does not matter what your score is, you will have the avatar. So if you are playing for the avatar, do the simplest solutions you can. This is not what this guide is aimed at, we are going for a trophy and need a high score. If you want a guide to help you in getting the avatar, I recommend:

Sewage Surfer Avvie Guide – Simple Solutions

Now it is possible you can follow my guide and get a trophy before reaching level 50 and then quit to get the avatar too. It will take longer to get the avatar though and clearly without the last level it makes it harder to get a high score. To maximize your chances it is important you know how the high score table works.

High Score Table

Upon completing a level you obtain a score for that level, this is added to the scores you got for previous levels and gives your current total. So if I have 50 points for completing level 1 and then 80 for level 2 my total score at that point is 130. To record a score in a month you have to complete a level in that month. The level you are working on is carried over from the previous month, for example if I complete 10 levels in this month then when I play the following month I will start on level 11 and my cumulative score will also be carried over.

It is also important to note that your score only updates to the high score table when you complete a level divisible by 5 (ie when you complete levels 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50).

So for example, if you want to try to get the avatar and trophy in one go, play all the way through completing level 44 using this guide. Place all the pieces for level 45 but do not press the button to complete the level (unless you are confident your score is good enough for a trophy based on the high score table at the moment). On the first day of the next month when the high score tables have cleared, complete level 45 which will submit your score to level 45 score for the month. Wait until the following day and then play through to level 50 and quit level 50 and you get your avatar. If you are lucky and have scored really well and other scores on the high score table are very low you might get a bronze for your level 45 score. However, getting on the highscore table when others may have completed all 50 levels is going to be very tough. I recommend play through for the avvie quickly and then play again for a trophy score.

I’m not certain you have to wait a day, I suspect the score you had upon completing level 45 would stay on the high score table even if you quit, but I have not tried it and having slogged your way through 45 levels I suggest you wait a day before quitting, just in case. If anyone can confirm this please let me know.

How to Get a High Score

The secret to getting a high score is simple. Every piece you use as part of the solution gives you points. The more pieces you use in a solution the better. I haven’t managed to work out how much each piece is worth, I believe the junctions are worth more than curves are worth more than straights but if anyone knows and can mail me that would be great. Not knowing this didn’t stop me from getting a gold trophy and frankly its probably a level of complexity too far, its hard enough try to complete the puzzles without worrying about this too. You use the pieces it gives you and hope you don’t run out! Every piece you place which does not form part of the solution loses you points. Restarting a level loses 50 points, as does starting the sewage flow when the pipe network was not complete. So basically to get a high score use loads of pieces, never place any you don’t need and never restart or fail a level. Unfortunately it’s not quite that simple.

You will have to make judgment calls. Some levels only get you around 100 points. Others give you 2000. It may be worth restarting a high scoring level and losing 50 points in the hope of a really high scoring solution. In the case of a low scoring level you may go for a simpler solution to avoid failing the level and losing 50 points. There is no hard and fast rule on this. Clearly if you fail a level and then get the perfect pieces so you score 500 more it was a great decision. However, if it then gives you 10 games with the wrong pieces, you lose 500 and end up with the same solution you had before, it wasn’t so good.

As a rule of thumb, if the level scores over 1000 I try very hard to get a high score on the level. There aren’t many that score that high and for a trophy we need the points so it’s a calculated risk. 500 to 1000 I look for at least a good if not great solution. Below 500 I just make sure I don’t fail them if at all possible and get the best solution I can.

Here is a picture of the high score table after I finished walking through all the levels and completed level 50. Ended up third, pretty good considering I restarted so often. You can see w0x0x in first place – beaten again! And there in tenth lies my guild leader – what a small world.

A quick note regarding grandmaster status for sewage surfer. You need a score of over 40,000 which unless you had perfect solutions throughout is impossible. There were some occasions in the past when the database glitched and everyones game was reset to level 1 but their score at that point was kept. w0x0x had just completed level 49 when it did this and therefore got to restart at level 1 from a 49th level score (I’m not jealous). Personally I would say anything over 32,000 should be a grandmaster score but for the moment its not so lets just focus on the trophy and hope neopets have a change of heart.

Solutions to levels

Below are high scoring solutions to every level. I have indicated where I believe that this is definitely the solution to go for (for example Level 1 can only be solved in one way).

However, and this is very important, for most levels your solution will not be exactly the same. It depends upon the pieces you are given.

Use the solutions as a guide on how to get a high score for the level but you have to react to the pieces you have been given. If you just blindly try to copy my exact solutions you will fail levels so often (and lose 50 points each time) that you will not get a trophy.

On many levels you can score more than I did – I am not pretending the solutions below are an exhaustive list of the best solutions – they aren’t. However, I did restart very often until I got a high score for each level to create this guide. In terms of getting a high overall score I would have been better off scoring a lower score on some levels and not failing so often. This is up to you to decide.

If anyone believes one of my levels to be horribly flawed and a much higher score is possible please let me know, I’m not too interested in the fact you got 20 points more for the purposes of this guide (although I am very happy for you!), as I said above, they illustrate how to approach the levels and hopefully get a trophy.

Here are my solutions, best of luck, I love feedback, let me know how it goes, thanks:

Level 1 – this is the only solution

Level 2 – go under or over

Level 3 – high score solution

Level 4 – go over or under

Level 5 – could score a little higher with more turns

Level 6 – high score solution but could go down instead

Level 7 – high score solution

Level 8 – high score solution

Level 9 – high score solution

Level 10 – high score solution (you could not do one corner if you want to make it easier)

Level 11 – can be done many ways but basic principle is shown

Level 12 – can be done many ways but basic principle is shown

Level 13 – Important level – you can score a lot of points here – the basic priciple is shown, fill the board and use as many pieces as possible – shame I ran out of discards and had to dump some in gaps

Level 14 – this is the only solution

Level 15 – this is the only solution (it tries to trick you that you can complete the big loop with the first piece but you can’t)

Level 16 – this is the only solution (I think) It is a maze – other routes loop on themselves and you get stuck but happy to be proved wrong

Level 17 – basic principle shown – depends on the pieces you get. Level is not that high scoring – don’t fail it too often!

Level 18 – the only solution is down or up as shown – shame I ran out of discards and had to dump a piece

Level 19 – basic priniple shown, put the verticals in the middle first as they are the only pieces that can go there. Plan the routes down the sides to make sure they can join up

Level 20 – lots of ways to do this but basic priniple shown. Try to link all the loops together but you have to work with the pieces it gives you – easy to fail this as you have little spare room for unwanted pieces at the end

Level 21 – high score solution

Level 22 – could have scored higher by extending the loops further left

Level 23 – high score solution – definitely go for this, it gives you the pieces within a few goes and is worth the points in my opinion

Level 24 – high score solution – again I always play for this even if I have to restrt a few times

Level 25 – basic principle shown but can be done better

Level 26 – loops around the top and bottom always required – how you join them up depends on the pieces you get

Level 27 – not a bad solution – shows the basic principle of how to fill the spaces

Level 28 – high score solution

Level 29 – high score solution

Level 30 – high score solution – could score a little more by filling the extra spaces but risky

Level 31 – this was a high scoring solution but this level depends very much on the pieces you get – take care to make sure you can join it all up and go for the small loops

Level 32 – good solution – could perhaps score a little higher if you joined up all three at both ends

Level 33 – good solution – clearly you could make the side loops longer but this level is easy to fail (as you can see from my discarded pieces I nearly failed that go too)

Level 34 – high score solution

Level 35 – this is an ok solution – in my defence I had failed this so often and I was tired and grumpy so I just wanted to complete it! Should really have joined up the arm in the bottom middle part and extended the pipes at the ends but you can see the shape of it

Level 36 – good solution – could add a few more lopps in for an extra few points

Level 37 – there may be a better solution than this but I haven’t found it. If you take the loops away to try and extend them it seems impossible to joi them back up so I stick with this solution

Level 38 – basic principle shown but depending on the pieces how you join the outside to the inside can vary and you could add a kink at the bottom, see what pieces you get dealt

Level 39 – look at this puzzle as a top and bottom half. If you join up to the entrance by going left, you have to form a small loop to the right side. The same is true of linking to the exit. The basic principle is shown, hopefully you can see what I mean

Level 40 – high scoring level and can be done many ways. I try to sort out a section at a time. Just lay as many pieces as you can whilst minimising discards. The solution is a good example of roughly how mine look but it can vary somewhat

Level 41 – good solution, form lots of small loops to maximise the amount of pieces you use

Level 42 – basic principle shown – its quite easy to fail this level and its not that high scoring so beware

Level 43 – good solution – the final pattern will depend somewhat on how many cross pieces you get but this is a solid example of how to get a good score

Level 44 – good example of the basic pattern although a few more discards than I would like but better than failing the level

Level 45 – this is the only solution

Level 46 – good solution – you could try and extend the top loop

Level 47 – good solution – could be done other ways but my solutions are always very close to this

Level 48 – yuk – an ok solution I suppose but I can’t tell you how easy this level is to fail. For a high score run off the arms as far as possible and get it all to join up but I really would just try and get something ok down and move on

Level 49 – good solution – you only get curves in two directions so its not easy to link it all up. I would recommend linking the entrance to exit as soon as possible and then run off the arms for points afterwards

Level 50 – good solution – follow the basic pattern but note you do not get any discards so you have to work with what it gives you

Finished! Hopefully you are sat on the high score table and come tomorrow you will have a nice shiny new trophy!

Neopets Hidden Tower

The Neopets Hidden Tower is one of Neopia’s many secrets among all it’s lands, secrets that sometimes become publicly known for the users of the game. The Hidden Tower, is a place you can find in the Faerieland City, invisible in the sky and confused between the many towers of this magnificent place where faeries live and work. The Hidden Tower is actually a shop that is managed by not other than the one and only Faerie Queen: the beautiful Fyora. Here she sells her rare and powerful artifacts to the Neopians who can afford them, since they are all pretty expensive and at the same time, she only lets people with accounts older than 4 months buying them.

Neopets Hidden Tower

Neopets Hidden Tower Link

You can visit the Hidden Tower by two methods. The first one would be to go to the Faerieland City and move your cursor on the left of the Faerie Bubbles sign, where the broken tower is. Once you find the spot you’ll be able to click on it. If not, you can visit the Hidden Tower by visiting link below.

http://www.neopets.com/faerieland/hiddentower938.phtml

At the same time, Fyora needs her beauty sleep to keep herself fresh, and due this the tower closes three times per day. She says is for ‘stock taking’ but we all know the truth behind it. Anyway, during the following times the Hidden Tower closes and you cannot make a purchase:

1:00am – 2:00am NST
7:00am – 8:00am NST
10:00pm – 11:00pm NST

Hidden Tower

When visiting the Hidden Tower remember that you are only allowed to buy one item every 24 hours. If you try to buy another thing before this time passes you’ll get the following message: “Error: Sorry, I will only sell one item to you every 24 hours, I don’t want to run out of stock!”.

What does the Hidden Tower Neopets Sell

Back in the start of this shop, the Hidden Tower used to sell mostly battledome weapons and equipment over anything else, which explains why the list that now you’ll see has an abundance in that section. But not too long ago, Fyora started to stock Paint Brushes, Faerie Dolls, Plushies and other goodies, transforming the Hidden Tower in what we can see now a days.

Neopets HT Tower

The Hidden Tower differs from other shops since it has an unlimited quantity of each item available, they never run out and the only time when you can’t buy an item is when it has been retired from the shop, or when the Hidden Tower is closed. Once an item is retired from this shop, no more will enter the Neopian economy, making such item much more rare and expensive with time.

In general terms, there are 4 big kinds of items that the Hidden Tower sells:

1) Paint Brushes

The Neopets Paintbrushes available in the Hidden Tower are: Royal, Baby, Darigan, and Maractite. You can also find the Royal Petpet Paint Brush there. The prices of all this paint brushes will remain fairly consistent everywhere around Neopia since they can only be bought in the Hidden Tower.

Hidden Tower Discount Day

The Hidden Tower has the particularity that the listed price in the shop will be the firm one and once you click it, you won’t be redirected to a haggle page but instead, you’ll be paying the full price at once and buying it. But there are two opportunities in which you can receive a discount in the Hidden Tower.

If you have an account that is older than 60 months old, you can use the Loyal User Perk introduced in 2010 for the Hidden Tower. This perk gives a 3% discount in all the items every third Wednesday of the month.

At the same time, if you’re lucky enough you might get a random event where you’ll be awarded a 10% discount off your next purchase in the Hidden Tower. This random even was created in 2014 and it doesn’t expire, so you can wait all you want before using it. Also is important to know that you cannot add up both of the discounts since they don’t stack up.

Neopets Hidden Tower Capsule

The Hidden Tower Capsule is a mysterious and coveted item in Neopia that celebrates the lore surrounding the Hidden Tower itself. These capsules occasionally appear during special Neopian events, offering a random selection of exclusive or rare items. Typically, the capsules include items themed around the Tower or Fyora, such as magical weapons, luxurious furniture, or unique collectibles. For collectors and battlers alike, the Hidden Tower Capsule is a thrilling way to enhance their inventory with treasures that embody the Tower’s allure. Be prepared to splurge Neocash when these capsules make their limited-time debut.

Neopets Hidden Tower Avatars

The Hidden Tower Avatars are a badge of honor for Neopian collectors. To obtain the “Hidden Tower” avatar, users must purchase an item from the Tower. While any item qualifies, even the cheapest purchase requires significant Neopoints, making this avatar a status symbol of wealth and dedication. Additionally, some rare items purchased here might unlock specific avatars related to the Neopian lore, adding an extra layer of incentive for avatar collectors. Visiting the Tower isn’t just about shopping—it’s about securing bragging rights for your Neopian account.

Neopets Hidden Tower Closed

Rumors of the Hidden Tower closing have circulated among Neopians for years, adding to its mystique. While Fyora’s Tower remains open as of now, its elusive location and the premium nature of its items often give the impression of exclusivity. Some speculate that if the Tower were to ever close, its items would instantly become priceless relics in the trading market. For now, the Tower stands as a timeless monument to Neopia’s magical history—but don’t take its presence for granted. If you’re eyeing a particular treasure, now might be the best time to secure it.

Neopets Hidden Tower Treasure

The Hidden Tower Treasure is a trove of rare and legendary items that can’t be found elsewhere in Neopia. From Battledome essentials like the Sword of Skardsen to decorative petpets like the Faerie Queen Doll, the Tower houses an array of treasures for every type of Neopian. Each item reflects Fyora’s dedication to preserving Neopian magic and history. These treasures often come with hefty price tags, but their rarity ensures they remain valuable investments. For collectors, the Tower is the ultimate destination to discover and acquire some of Neopia’s most iconic and powerful artifacts.

Neopets Hidden Tower Retired Items

Over the years, many items from the Hidden Tower have been retired, making them even more desirable among collectors and traders. Retired items, such as the Chokato (TCG) or Faerie Slingshot, are no longer available for purchase, driving up their value in the Neopian economy. These items often become symbols of status and wealth, coveted by players who missed the chance to buy them directly. If you’re lucky, you might find retired Hidden Tower items in the Trading Post or through auctions—but expect to pay a premium for these iconic pieces of Neopian history.

History of the Neopets Hidden Tower

Now that you know how the Hidden Tower works, you might be interested in learning a little bit about it’s background. The Hidden Tower was first announced on January 16, 2001 (Y3), and was officially opened in January 17 of the same year.

You can check the way it was discovered in it’s page in the Neopedia, where the maid of the Faerieland castle, Celandra the Pink Gelert, was dusting around the towers when she noticed a small trapdoor that had been hiding behind a bookshelf. She opened such trapdoor and climbed through where she discovered an abandoned courtyard, overrun with weeds and rubbish. Celandra decided to clean this space up and while doing this, a magical doorway swung open and then became invisible. She approached the place and touched the invisible walls of the long lost Hidden Tower, grasping then the doorknob and discovering when opening it a large collection of rare magical items.

Hidden Tower Neopets

The Hidden Tower had its first change in June of 2007, where it closed for people with accounts younger than 4 months old. If they tried going to the link of the shop, they would be redirected to Faerie City. Then, on the April Fools Day of 2009, TNT closed the Hidden Tower as a joke. After this event, the access to the Hidden Tower changed once more to become what now is, where people with accounts younger than 4 months old could visit the shop but not purchase any of the items.

Every time you visit the Hidden Tower, the Queen Fyora will talk to you. Here is the list of all the possible comments she’ll make in case you’re wondering!

– My favorite is the Rod of Nova (but I seem to be sold out!)

– These magical artifacts are centuries old!

– I will add more items to my stock soon!

– You could never afford any of these!

– You must be strong to wield these items in battle.

– You will never lose another battle again!

– No, I don’t do loans!!!

Not all has been pink and roses for the Hidden Tower. The popularity of the treasures that this shop holds got into the ears of Captain Xelqued, an Alien Aisha that decided to steal the secrets of the valuable items sold by the Queen Fyora. He created an artifact that captured the information of each item, and once he got to trick Fyora into giving him a tour around the shop, he used this and successfully recreated the artefacts in a lab back home. But once Fyora knew about the scam of this aisha, she took revenge and seized all of the Aisha Myriad of the Captain and started to sell those for a while in the Hidden Tower, though if a customer wanted to buy one of those, they would undergo thorough a background check, as a way to insure that they aren’t one of the Alien Aishas’ secret agents. This item was retired of the shop a couple years later though.

I hope this guide was useful and now you know much more about the Hidden Tower and it’s multiple details! Have a safe and happy buying!
