✷ Guidelines & Tips for Surprise Trading

  1. List Your Pet:
    • Post your pet that is Up For Trade (UFT), the account it’s on, and until what time it’s available for surprise trading.
    • Format Example:vbnetCopy codePet: PETNAME the Species Color Account: Account Name Time: Until (time or "until no longer active")
  2. Mobile-Friendly Formatting:
    • Be mindful of mobile users by writing out your username when posting. Don’t say “this account.” Mobile users need the full username to easily copy and paste.
  3. First Transfer Wins:
    • The first valid surprise transfer you receive gets automatically accepted, no matter what! Once the pet is transferred, it’s final!
  4. No Prior Offers:
    • Don’t offer for pets on the board! The idea is to keep things a surprise, so wait for the transfer to be sent your way.
  5. All Pets Are Welcome:
    • Feel free to list jokey pets, weird colors, or basic ones. It’s all part of the fun—whether it’s a BN (badly named), DN (decently named), or VWN (very well-named) pet, everything goes!
  6. Avoid Sending Pets Too Young to Pound:
    • Don’t send pets that are too young to be transferred. It’s bad etiquette to leave someone waiting until the pet ages up to trade or pound.
  7. Reposting is Allowed:
    • You can repost your pet if it hasn’t been traded yet, just make sure to follow the time guidelines.
  8. List Pets You Can Part With:
    • Only list pets that you wouldn’t mind receiving a basic pet in exchange for. Think of it as listing pets you might pound or adopt out if you needed the space.
  9. Check the Time:
    • Always make sure to pay attention to the time listed for how long the pet will be available.
  10. Post from the Correct Account:
  • Make sure you’re posting from the account where your listed pet is housed.

  • It says, “USER doesn’t own PETNAME.”
    Try typing the username in all lowercase letters; the system can glitch if there are capital letters.
  • Why can’t I see the pet I want to trade for?
    Make sure you have enough Neopoints on hand to adopt the pet!
  • I can’t see any pets on the transfer page, just arrows!
    Try zooming in or out on your screen or rotating your phone.
  • The pet is not on that account anymore!
    The pet may have already been traded.
  • What if it’s past the time the pet was available?
    Don’t send a transfer after the time listed. Look for a repost or update from the owner on the Surprise Trade thread.
  • I received a pet but I’m out of fodder!
    You may not have any pets to offer in exchange for others, but you can still list the pet you received for future Surprise Trades!
