Neopets Patapult Guide

Patapult is one of the many active games in the NC Mall! Patapult is a Neocash game, meaning it cannot be played with neopoints and can be played on side accounts. Users buy Patapuff packs from the NC Mall and can then play the skeeball game and earn exclusive wearable prizes!

GETTING STARTED — PATAPUFFS

In order to play Patapult, you must buy a Patapuff pack. Patapuffs are sold in the NC Mall and can be purchased in three different quantities:

As you can see, Patapuff packs can be purchased individually or in packs of 5 or 10. Buying larger packs decreases the amount of an individual Patapuff and is essentially a better deal. If you plan to play multiple times for a specific prize, consider buying one of the larger packs to save money!

Unlike other NC Mall games like Shenanigifts and Wonderclaw, there are no Power-Ups in Patapult.

PLAYING PATAPULT

To start the game, go to the homepage and click “PLAY”. Patapult is a unique NC Mall game in that it takes actual skill to get the prizes you would like. The game only requires a mouse or trackpad, and there are two main controls: 1) Use your mouse to drag the Patamoose back and forth in order to aim it, and 2) Left click on the Patamoose and drag it towards the idol of your choice to launch it.

patapult_gameplay_23-7532434

Depending on which prize you are aiming for, you can aim and launch your Patamoose at Wood, Bronze, Silver, or Gold idols. These tiers provide different prizes, so check out the “Prizes” section of this article before playing!

For each Patapuff you use, you have three chances to get an idol, which will correspond with the areas on the map above. If you miss, you will generally end up with a Wood idol. Each of the three rounds should result in an idol, and you can decide if you want to keep it or try again after each time. If you get the idol you want on your first or second throw and decide to keep it, the game will end, and you would have to use another Patapuff to continue playing.

Unfortunately, the game takes some practice, and it might require quite a few Patapuffs before you get the tier you’d like, say Silver or Bronze. Be careful if you’re playing for the first time and only have a limited amount of Patapuffs!

REDEEMING PRIZES

Redeeming prizes requires the idols that you win during the game. The amount of idols you have will appear on the homepage of the game, and not in your inventory.

As you can see, I have 0 of each idol… 🙁

Each prize is worth a certain amount of idols in a certain tier. To collect a prize, simply click “REDEEM IDOLS” under your Acquired Idols count. A prize can only be collected if you have the exact idol that is required, meaning a Bronze-tier prize needs a Bronze idol to be redeemed; even if you have a Bronze Idol and want a Wood-tier prize, it won’t work.

Neopets Shenanigifts Guide

OVERVIEW

Shenanigifts is the latest game to come from the NC Mall in which users can exclusive NC wearables! After buying in-game “invitations,” which can be found in the Mall, users can attend parties and use “Power-Ups” to win Neocash prizes. Read more below to see how to play and what you can win!

The homepage of Shenanigifts in the NC Mall.

GETTING STARTED — INVITATIONS & POWER-UPS

In order to play, users must have an “invitation” which are necessary to enter a particular party. Invitations can be purchased from the NC Mall individually or in packs:

As you can see, buying packs will save you NC in the long run. While a 1-pack values an invitation at 150 NC, buying a 5-pack values them at 100 NC each. If you plan on playing Shenanigifts multiple times, consider buying a pack! When you’re ready to play, simply go to your inventory, click on the invitation, and click “Activate” in the scroll-down menu. The item will activate in-game and will never expire.

There are also optional Power-Ups that can be used in the game, also purchasable through the NC Mall:

Power-Ups will not show up in your inventory, but instead, you will find them in your in-game inventory.
These three Power-Ups have different functions:

  • Extra Chance Shenanigifts Power-Up — You can use this Power-Up to choose a fourth Elephante during the game.
  • 2 Gift Party Shenanigifts Power-Up — You can use this Power-Up to win a second prize! This is both the most expensive and most popular Power-Up.
  • Second Look Shenanigifts Power-Up — You can use this Power-Up after you’ve taken your third turn

While Power-Ups are not necessary, you may want to consider them if you are aiming for a specific prize.

PICKING A PARTY

In Shenanigifts, the different parties give out different prizes, and each has a specific theme. There are currently three active parties: Garden PartyLunar Festival Party, and Caroling Party. If you want a specific prize, check out the items you can win in the “Prizes” section of this article and choose the corresponding party! Each party has the same amount of items to possibly win.

PLAYING SHENANIGIFTS

Shenanigifts is a very simple game. First, choose a party to attend on the main page and then click “Join the Party”. Once you’re inside of the party, you will start giving gifts by selecting a party attendant, confirm that you would like to in fact choose that guest, and then the (surprisingly nameless) purple Elephante host will present you with their gift. Now, you decide if you want to take this gift and exit the game or continue receiving gifts. If you want a different gift, click “Pick Another” and then select another party guest. Warning: Without the right Power-Ups, the Elephante whose gift you rejected will fade away and cannot be re-selected. Every round you play (1 invitation), you can choose up to a third Elephante. If you reject the first two gifts you receive, you will be with the third gift you receive. Rarely, you can win a bonus item, which is completely random. Your gift(s) can be found in your item inventory at the end of the game.

You can use your Power-Ups during and at the end of the game, so this is where the only game strategy will take place. You can see how many of each Power-Up you have on the homepage, and you can always buy more at the NC Mall.

NC Mall Wonderclaw Guide

Like those dastardly difficult claw machines at the arcade, the NC Mall’s Bigsby Shadington’s Wonderclaw is a game that involves Neocash (real money) and a lot of luck. You need widgets to play, which you can buy from the NC Mall, and you can win great wearable prizes!

The homepage of the NC Mall Wonderclaw game.

GETTING STARTED — WIDGETS & POWER-UPS

To play Wonderclaw, you need to buy widgets. Widgets are the item that you enter into the machine like currency — each widget gives you one play. You cannot play the game without them, so when you go to the home page (see the image above) and press “CLICK TO PLAY!”, the game will tell you to buy widgets to continue. Widgets are sold at the NC mall in packs, and there are three packs:

The larger the packet of widgets you buy, the more NC you save. While a 1-pack sells for 150 NC, a 5-pack sells five for essentially 100 NC each (5 X 100 NC = 500 NC, the cost of a 5-pack!). Depending on how many times you want to play Wonderclaw, and how many different machines you want to try, buying widgets in bulk can be a wise choice for your wallet.

The arguably only strategic aspect to the game is the use of Power-Ups. These can also be purchased at the NC Mall and have different in-game functions, which we’ll get into in the next section. There are two Power-Ups that can be purchased individually:

While the Power-Ups are not necessary, they are highly recommended, especially if you are going for a specific prize!

As mentioned, you need to use the widgets to play Wonderclaw. After you have purchased a widget from the NC Mall, go to your inventory, click on the widget, and then active it by clicking “Active Your Wonderclaw” from the scroll-down options:

Once you have widgets in your in-game inventory, you can start playing! You can either click the link that will be provided after you active your widget, or you can go to the Wonderclaw homepage and click “CLICK TO PLAY!”.

CHOOSING A MACHINE

Welcome to Wonderclaw! This is the homepage of the game which will tell you what you have to work with:

As you can see, I have one widget and one of each Power-Up to use in the game. There are also “PURCHASE” buttons that will link you to the NC Mall to buy more, if you so desire.

One of the most critical parts of the game is choosing the machine that you want to play on. Each machine gives out a different set of prizes, so it’s important to know what you want — or at least which group of things you’d like something from — before selecting a final machine. As of Summer 2015, there are three machines to choose from: Jewel Tones Machine, Skeletal Machine, and Stormy Ombre Machine. To determine which machine is which, click a machine and hit “PLAY GAME”. Don’t worry — you have to confirm a second time if you really want to play that machine. Clicking the play button will bring you to a confirmation screen that tells you the theme of that specific machine, so you can make sure you’re picking the one you really want:

When you have decided on which machine you want to play, click “YES”.

PLAYING WONDERCLAW

To start the game, you need to draw your widget from the top, right-hand corner of the screen to the machine:

At this point, you will also be asked if you want to use one of the Power-Ups.

  • Large Claw Wonderclaw Power-Up — This Power-Up gives you two prizes from the machine instead of one.

This is where your basic strategy comes in. If you want multiple items from one machine, but not another, apply your Large Claw Power-Up to that machine. If you want a rarer item, apply the Tier Boost Power-Up instead.

Then, it’s time to play!

You then have 30 seconds to move the claw with your arrow keys and press the space bar to release the claw. It will pick up one (or two — if you use the Large Claw Power-Up) prize pod and deposit it for you to collect. If you don’t press the space bar and manually descend the claw after 30 seconds, it will simply descend automatically and pick a pod at random. The color of the pod does not have any determination on the prize you will receive.

After you’ve played with the claw, click the prize pods that have won to see your prize(s)! This also the time that you can use the other Power-Up if you have it:

  • Tier Boost Wonderclaw Power-Up — This Power-Up upgrades the prize you initially receive. There are “tiers” of prizes, so this will upgrade your prize to the next highest tier.

If you have received one pod, you can choose it to use your Tier Boost Power-Up. If you have two pods from using the Large Claw Power-Up, you can choose either. Tier boosting is random and you will not know which item you are boosting until after you’ve opened your prize pod(s). After you’ve collected your prize and used the Power-Up, if you have chosen to do so, you will receive your items which can then be found in your inventory.

THE PRIZES

There are three active machines, so there are three sets of prizes that can be won. Each machine gives items based in four tiers: Wood Tier, Bronze Tier, Silver Tier, and Gold Tier; there is also one bonus item per machine that can be won. To see the retired prizes from past machines, go here: 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014. The prizes that can currently be won (as of Fall 2015) are as follows:

Notes & Reminders

  • Because the game does not award Neopoints or NP items, you can play this on side accounts.
  • If your game glitches, freezes, or you have to exit from the Wonderclaw game at any time, don’t fret! You can pause in the middle of the game, so you won’t lose the widget you were using. Simply return back to the Wonderclaw homepage and resume your game.
  • Power-Ups do not appear in your inventory once they’ve been purchased. Instead, they appear in your in-game inventory, which you can view under “Widgets Remaining” in the game screen. This also means that you cannot send Power-Ups to your Neofriends or side accounts.

Neocash – All You Need to Know!

Are you new to buying Neocash (NC) and wondering how the NC Mall and NC boards work? Are you an established NCer but want some great tips to trading? If you answered “yes” to all of the above, you’ve come to the right place! I will be teaching you everything you need to know as a NCCer and more.

To start off, I will introduce the two types of Neocash items. Neocash items have two categories: They are either buy-able or retired.

https://neopets-cheats.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/13-a6byhu5x-bg.jpg

Neocash Item Types

Buyable: NC items that you can buy directly from the NC mall.

Retired: NC items that were attainable for a limited amount of time. It can be all the way from a day to a few years. These are the most valuable NC items to have! There are also some categories of retired items, which I will explain below.

https://neopets-cheats.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/nc_mall_250x200.png

Daily Dare retired items: You can only get these items on the one day Lulu awards them during the Daily Dare. You must buy tickets to challenge her at the flash games and beat her score! These can be pretty valuable and rare because they are attainable for only one day. One good example is the Pink Mountain Cloud Background which trades for several caps!

MME/mini-MME: These are a gamble but many highly valued items come from these! You buy these in the mall for 300NC-700NC. Then, you watch it as it morphs in your inventory. You can even put it on your pet and watch the item morph. At the end of the morph, you will get all stages and a bonus item if you are really, really lucky! Many bonus items trade highly.

NC Event items: There are some NC events like the yearly Altador Cup NC events and Easter events where NC plays a part. You are usually required to purchase a set of tickets to the event that will let you redeem prizes. These too, can be quite valuable and rare. If there’s a bonus prize after completing the whole NC event, it can usually trade well.

Premium Monthly Collectible NC Items: These are NC items given out monthly to Premium players. Many people will have them but they are still retired and can be valued quite highly if they are popular among NCers. Maybe this is a good reason to get premium.

https://neopets-cheats.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/icon_1069.gif

Key Quest tokens: Most of them are buyable but there are a few that retire! When unlocked, a token is added to your Key Quest album and you receive a limited edition NC item. The NC items that come from retired Key Quest tokens can be highly sought after. Some examples are Isca Wig and Sweet Silver Violin.

Capsules: There are a few capsules that are buyable but most of the existing capsules are retired. Capsules give out NC items when opened and often have some limited edition NC items too. Capsules can be pretty sought after but are hard to trade. Some capsules are valued over $1000!!

NC Game Items: Not to be confused with NC Daily Dare prizes. These are NC games like Shenanigifts, Jub Jub Power Bounce, Wonderclaw etc. There are usually a few months when you can get them before they retire. You buy a set of tickets and use them to play the games and win prizes! It’s usually quite a gamble because you cannot choose which prize you want. What you can do is swap them for other prizes with other NCCers, which I can explain in the next topic of trading.

https://neopets-cheats.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/lulu.png

NC Mall boards: The NC Mall boards are one of the most active boards in Neopets. Most of the threads are for the purpose of trading NC items. Typically, on the title of their thread NCCers will advertise what they are seeking and what they have for trade. NCCers usually make their own tradelist and wishlist on sites like Jellyneo and Dress to Impress. They trade their own NC items for other NC users’ NC items using gift boxes, the only method of transferring NC items.

Neocash Gift Boxes: For a while, NC items were no trade. But that has changed when TNT introduced the gift box. Each gift box can transfer ONE NC item to another Neopets account. The gift boxes aren’t free though. You can get them by opening gift box mystery capsules (200 NC), which are buyable for a week every month. GBCs award minimum TWO gift boxes but this number can be five if you are really lucky! You can also get gift boxes by redeeming Neocash cards, which a cheap option. One $25 Neocash card gets you 5 gift boxes. However the ultimate cheapest method of obtaining gift boxes is to get them through Turdy’s surprise, the daily slot machine.

Neocash Acronyms

NC: Neocash
GBC: Gift box mystery capsule
UFT: Up for trade
HTPW: Hard to part with
VHTPW: Very hard to part with
NTY: No thank you
GLT: Good luck trading
LE: Limited edition
Popular: NC items that are very easy to trade and get offers on. Everyone wants these. They are usually pretty highly valued too. Populars rarely trade for multiple small items. They usually trade for other populars that are similar in value. Some populars can rise in value rapidly, so it’s important to get them earlier when they are cheaper.
BG: background item
NCCer: Someone who frequents the NC boards.
Custom: When a trader is willing to buy NC items from the mall with their current NC. For example, a 600 NC custom means they are willing to spend 600 NC for a trade.
GBC sale: Some users hold GBC sales where they put their UFT items in a list or gallery. You can get some great deals, since some retired items in a GBC sale will trade 2:1. If you send 1 GBC to the trader, they will send you two NC items back. The magic number is 2 since GBCs are guaranteed to give out at least 2 boxes. Your trader will be betting on the change that they will give more!
WL: Wishlist
TL: Tradelist

https://neopets-cheats.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/ncmallcashcards.png

Note that some populars also have acronyms. For example, Curly White Wig with Bow is “CWWWB” and Altadorian Wig with Gold Ribbon is “AC Wig”.

The Cap System: The currency for NC values are caps. One cap is equivalent to 200 NC, the price of a Gift Box Mystery Capsule. So for example, to trade for a NC item worth 16 capsules, you must spend 3200 NC, if the trader is looking for a custom. Value guides will show how many caps each NC item is worth. The current value guide is located on /~clara. However, take the values for popular NC items with a grain of salt because the value of your item is ultimately what YOU value it.

Neocash Trading

Now, onto trading! As I said, NCCers often have a wishlist and tradelist that they advertise on the NC mall boards. Tradelists often contain a HTPW section (or a highlights section!), a regular up for trade section, and sometimes a 2:1 GBC section. Wishlists often are composed of a Priority section and a Casual section. Priority means that the trader is actively trying to trade for an item. If you’ve got the item, there’s little chance they would reject a fair offer. Casual means items to be obtained casually, the trader is not actively seeking the said item. They can be value fillers in a trade for a popular item too.

https://neopets-cheats.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/news_np_q2cashcards2013.jpg

Most NCCers are ALWAYS seeking GBCs. On sale days where GBCs are only 100NC each, you can get some pretty awesome deals!

Neocash Trading Etiquette

https://neopets-cheats.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/shoyru.png

– Send your part of the trade before you receive the other persons’ items!
– Thank your trader for the trade.
– Don’t back out of a trade especially when the trader has already bought a custom for you!
– Don’t be greedy
– Don’t auction your items. This is different however than taking your time to choose the best offer!
– Be kind to other NCCers and don’t create drama. – Don’t block others just because you don’t like them. You never know…You can end up getting your sought after dream item by trading with them!
– Some people don’t like it when you reject offers with a “NTY”. Doesn’t take long to type: “No thank you, but good luck in trading!”
– Don’t take advantage of newbies’ lack of knowledge to the cap value system. Don’t rip them off!

– Trade up by trading your multiple low-cap items for higher ones! This is less costly than trading a 8000 NC custom for a 40 cap item even though it may cost more gift boxes and time.
– Overoffer to get the item as fast as possible. Some populars inflate very fast and the value guides may not have accurate up to date information. Besides, most traders are very reluctant to trade off their populars.
– Be prepared to bump your boards for hours, depending on how hard-to-get your dream item is.
– Never give up!
– Invest in MMEs, especially MME bonuses as many populars originate from there! Daily Dare prizes are also a great investment as they can only be obtained on one day.
