Neopets Crisis Courier

Crisis Courier is a game where you can play King Altador’s personal courier for a day. The Yooyu, being the fastest, most aerodynamic Petpet in all of Neopia, most famous for its role in the Altador Cup is Crisis Courier’s hero. Can you avoid the Altadorian obstacles and get his royal highness’s message to its recipient in time? Follow this guide to Crisis Courier and achieve a high score, perhaps even obtaining the elusive trophy.

Crisis Courier

Crisis Courier Controls

Crisis Courier is a side scrolling game, in which the game constantly moves you forwards. Your primary controls are to go up and down, backwards and forwards within the parameters of the screen. For this, you use the mouse. The left mouse button enables to you click between each species of the Petpet, Yooyu. Throughout the game you’re able to control a Fire Yooyu, Snow Yooyu, Mutant Yooyu or Faerie Yooyu.

Crisis Courier Points

You can earn points throughout this game by using several different methods, and in order to achieve a high score, a combination of all is required. The main points throughout this game are earned by collecting Golden, Blue or Red Goody Bags with a little Altadorian logo on top of them. Each golden Goody Bag is worth 5 points, whilst each Red and Blue Goody Bag is worth 10 points. However, coloured Goody Bags can only be collected by their corresponding Yooyu, for example Fire Yooyus can only collect Red Goody Bags and Snow Yooyus can only collect Blue Goody Bags. Faerie Yooyu however, can collect all.

Crisis Courier neopets

The second main way to earn points in Crisis Courier is by collecting (or defeating, however you want to phrase it) the Minitheuses dotted along each level. They’re always found on flat surfaces, such as roofs and bridges as you fly past. Much alike the Altador Goody Bags, Minitheuses come in colours – Red and Blue, and they must be collected by their corresponding Yooyu. Each Minitheus collected by the appropriate Yooyu will earn you 10 points. If you don’t use the correct coloured Yooyu on Goody Bags, you simply don’t collect the points, but if you use the incorrect Yooyu on a Minitheus, you’ll lose a life. Avoid it at all costs! Especially avoid it when seeing groups of different coloured Minitheuses grouped together, unless you’re currently a Mutant Yooyu.

lg_minitheus-5145367

The ways of switching between different Yooyus are as follows, the Snow and Fire are straightforward and are activated by the left mouse button. In order to become either Mutant or Faerie, you must collect fruit throughout the levels. The ‘fig’ turns your Yooyu into a Mutant, and whilst flying as a Mutant you can collect both Red and Blue Minitheuses without consequence. To turn into a Faerie, you must collect a ‘winged fruit’, and whilst being a Faerie you can earn 20 points for every Goody Bag collected – although be aware, that you are unable to collect any Minitheuses whilst flying as a Faerie. Once you have eaten either a fig or winged fruit, you cannot turn back into a normal Yooyu until the time as elapsed, usually just a few seconds.

The final way to earn points is simple, its by completing each level! When you approach the end of a level, a tall pillar will mark the end of obstacles (you can fly through it by the way, its not an obstacle in itself), and upon completing each level you will earn 100 points x the number level you’ve completed. For example, level 1 earns 100 points, level 2 earns 200 points, level 3 earns 300 points and so on.

In order to achieve a high score, its important to collect almost all of the Goody Bags throughout the levels, make maximum use of winged fruits, and try to collect all of the Minitheuses as well. If you can do this for every single level you’ll get a gold trophy.

Level by Level Point Target for Crisis Courier Trophy

Crisis Courier trophy

To achieve a high score for a bronze trophy, you should aim for a minimum of around 13,000 points on reset day. This guide should hopefully get you above this, towards a gold trophy.

Level 1 – The highest score you can achieve on this level is 490, aim for this.

Levels 2-3 – 4,800 is a good benchmark at this stage.

Level 4 – 8,000 is your benchmark, this is a particularly important level because you can potentially earn up to 4000 points. Restart if you don’t hit 8000 on this level because you likely won’t hit a high score without it.

Level 5 – 10,000 is a good score for this level, aim for a little over

Level 6 – 14,000 is a good benchmark, though its possible to have up to 15,000 on this level. Also don’t fret if you achieve less, because its still a great score for reset day.

Level 7 – As this is a particularly difficult level, 16,000 is an acceptable score.

Levels 8-9 – You’ve finished the game, pretty much anything you score at this stage will get you a trophy, as few intrepid couriers ever make it this far. Congratulations!

Neopets Crisis Courier Cheats

  • Type the words “kingaltador” exactly as they appear there to grant you an extra life at any point throughout the game. Note however its only valid once per game, so use wisely.
  • The most important part is holding onto your life, so don’t fret if you can’t collect everything, and similarly don’t put yourself into difficult positions just to collect extra Minitheuses which could cost you a life. Its not worth it, even for a high score.
  • Watch out for figs or winged fruits in places there they shouldn’t be – these are tricks, and a couple of play throughs will enable you to spot them. In this cases there will be figs right before lots of Goody Bags, and similarly winged fruits right before large groups of mixed Minitheuses.
  • Not a cheat but an Easter Egg – before you start a game, on the main menu if you click the bottom left window you’ll unlock a secret level!
  • To get a trophy you need somewhere around a minimum of 12,000 points.

Neopets Cooty Wars

The game Cooty Wars is just like playing Mootix Drop, except you play a general of the other side’s combatants of the ‘great war’ between the Mootix and the Cooty. Instead of playing the Mootix and parachuting from the sky to land on a specific target, in Cooty Wars, the goal is to shoot them out of the sky. The exciting game that is Cooty Wars narrates a part of the larger under current unnoticed by Neopets and Petpets alike, and by playing Cooty Wars on the side of the Cooty you’re making a political statement in support of them. What exactly they are fighting over, we cannot know.

Cooty Warscootywars_04-1093001Cooty Wars Gameplay

The aim of the game is to stop as many Mootix as possible from reaching the ground and joining their comrades in arms. You play the Commander General Cooty and you’re positioned high above the falling Mootix in a hot air balloon. We assume there is a battle raging somewhere below on the carpet, and its your job to stop them. You use your mouse to aim at each Mootix, and left click to fire at them. Sometimes the Mootix appear slightly to the left of the right of the screen, and in this case you can use your mouse to pan either left or right. The further down each Mootix is on their descent, the more points you will score for hitting them. Below is a screenshot of your typical gameplay:

Cooty Wars

Cooty Wars Scoring

In the centre of the screen, you have the arena in which the Mootix will parachute. Note you cannot hit them until their parachutes have unfolded, and the further you let them fall the harder they will become to hit. The point system for this game ranges from 1 – 10, you receive 1 point for shooting them as soon as their parachute opens, and 10 points for shooting them till they’ve almost disappeared from the screen. To score 10 per Mootix is extremely hard, although not impossible with some practise. Please note that shooting the Mootix itself will not earn you any points, and whilst you have unlimited ammo, its a waste of time. Aim for the parachute always.

Cooty Wars Level Guide

The bottom left hand side indicates both which level you are on, and what your current score is. The middle section shows the number of Mootix hit out of the number possible for this level. Note that each level has a different minimum number of Mootix. The number required by each level is as follows, on level 1 its 20 / 25, level 2 needs 30 / 35, level 3 needs 40 / 45 and so on. Each level only allows you to miss a maximum of 5 Mootix or else it’s Game Over. Once you reach the required minimum Mootix hit to pass the level, the number turns yellow. On the first few levels this should not be a problem, but after level 4/5, the Mootix move extremely fast and skill and practise is required.

Cooty Wars Power-ups and Bonuses

After the first level and from there on throughout the game, other Petpetpets will occasionally join you on the screen. Shooting them will earn you bonus points and power-ups, so its a huge priority not to miss them, especially if you’re going for a high score.

ppp_purple_beak-7762212

The Moquot – by shooting this Petpetpet you earn yourself a +25 point bonus.

ppp_lightmite-4970101

The Lightmite – For a limited time, shooting the Lightmite will turn the screen a blue shade and freeze all Mootix on the board for around three seconds allowing you to shoot them with ease.

ppp_petpetpet7-9560899

The Squippit – By hitting the Squippit, all Mootix on the board with parachutes currently open will be eliminated from the game, and you earn their respective points.

Neopets Cooty Wars Cheats

  • When a Mootix appears on screen, position your crosshair just beneath the Mootix and wait until its parachute flickers red. This allows the Mootix to fall some distance before you hit them, thereby earning yourself more points.
  • Don’t shoot the Mootix itself, aim for the parachute. Shooting the Mootix won’t count.
  • Aim for between 8-10 points pet Mootix hit, especially on the first few levels. Whilst there is no perfect trick to completing this, practise makes perfect. This is absolutely necessary for a high score.
  • After around level 5 the Mootix move too quickly to wait until 8-10 points, from here on its necessarily simply to complete the game with your minimum quota of Mootix, than risk a Game Over.
  • When seeing the Squippit or the Lightmite, wait until the time is perfect before shooting them – it would be a shame to waste the Squippit if some Mootix did not yet have their parachutes open, and similarly you wouldn’t want to waste the Lightmite if there is nothing on the screen to freeze. Build up your screen before shooting them for maximum points.

Neopets Cliffhanger

Cliffhanger is one of the old school games on Neopets, designed to be like its real life equivalent ‘hang man’. In the similar strain of morbid humour, our hero the Tuskaninny marches closer and close to the edge of a perilously high cliff each Cliffhanger question you fail to answer correctly. Its your job to stop him from reaching the end and plunging off onto a barrage of pointed spikes, by correctly identifying the Cliffhanger sentence before too many guesses.

lg_lupe_day_2004-1078267

Gameplay

The gameplay of this game is simple, and below is a screenshot of your typical game play:

screenshot_fullsize_29_1_v1-9304584

In the centre, you can see our Tuskaninny making his way towards the edge of the cliff. The sentence you need to identify is under the heading ‘YOUR PUZZLE’, and each letter is denoted by an underscore. Beneath that, you have a list of available letters, and in order to guess a letter you must click it there. If correct, the puzzle will automatically fill in all instances of the letter appearing in the phrase, if not – your Tuskaninny will move a few meters closer to the edge of the cliff. All of the letters you have used so far, correct and incorrect, will be placed in the table ‘USED LETTERS’ pictured bottom right.

You have three difficulty levels to choose from, Easy, Medium and Hard. The main difference between the three are the number of letters you have to pick in order to complete your puzzle. For example, by playing the game in ‘Easy’ you will receive all 26 letters at the start. ‘Medium’ leaves you with just B, C, D, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, P, Q, R, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z. Whilst ‘Hard’ has available just B, C, D, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P, Q, V, W, X, Y, and Z.

There is an avatar to be gained in this game, however that will mean sacrificing a Tuskaninny, for the avatar is only won by losing. The best way to do this is guess a string of nonsense letters, or deliberately pick obscure letters (X, Z, Q etc.) until your Tuskaninny plunges off the edge.

Neopets Cliffhanger Cheats

  • Always pick whatever vowels (A, E, I, O, U) you have available first – they are the most common letters in the English alphabet. If you are starting on Medium or Hard level, try to pick the common consonants first to establish your board, for example B, C, D, L, M, N, R, S, T.
  • Cliffhanger also has the random ability to make your pet more intelligent upon winning a game.

Neopets Chemistry for Beginners

Chemistry for Beginners is a simple game of hypothetical molecular science, where your goal is to aid the Ixi Scientist into creating ever more complex strings of atoms. In Chemistry for Beginners, one one atom out of place and BOOM! an unstable molecule and your whole lab is up in flames means a quick game over. To beat Chemistry for Beginners, follow this guide for a high score and possible trophy!

Chemistry for Beginners

Chemistry for Beginners Gameplay

The objects of this particular game is to build strings of atoms, and whilst there is no time limit, there is a limit on how many atoms you’ll receive per turn, so you need to be careful with placement, not to waste any. Use your mouse to place each atom by clicking the left hand mouse button.

The five atoms you need to make solutions out of are as follows:

Neopium = Neopium; first appears on level 1

Tyrannium = Tyrannium; first appears on level 2

Slothite = Slothite; first appears on level 6

Faerium = Faerium; first appears on level 10

Krawkite = Krawkite; first appears on level 14

Combinations: Stable and Unstable

Throughout the game you can make certain combinations each worth a different amount of points in game, but be aware only certain combinations can be made at certain times of the game, and some combinations you can make in one way become unstable in another way. You should have a good idea of which combination you’re able to make at any given time, as theres a scoreboard on the right hand side of the screen. Hovering over each combination indicates the score.

From Level 1

Neopium Neopium = 1 point

From Level 2

Neopium Tyrannium Neopium = 2 points

From Level 3

Tyrannium Tyrannium Tyrannium = 2 points

From Level 5

Tyrannium Tyrannium Tyrannium Tyrannium Tyrannium = 4 points

From Level 6

Neopium Slothite Slothite Neopium = 4 points

From Level 8

Neopium Tyrannium Neopium Tyrannium Neopium = 6 points

From Level 10

Neopium Faerium Faerium Faerium Neopium = 7 points

From Level 13

Slothite Slothite Slothite Slothite Slothite Slothite Slothite = 10 points

From Level 14

Krawkite Krawkite = 1 point

From Level 16

Slothite Krawkite Slothite Krawkite Slothite Krawkite = 10 points

However, if you make any of the following combinations from the following levels, it will mean an instantly game over, these are whats called unstable combinations. Avoid these at all costs, but as said, you cannot accidentally make them earlier in the game.

From Level 7

Slothite Slothite Slothite Slothite

From Level 18

Faerium Krawkite

The aim of each level is not to clear the board, although you will receive a five point bonus for doing so. The aim of each level is to meet the ‘points needed’ indicated in the top right hand corner of each game.

You want to plan each compound in advance, and set them up accordingly. The board is relatively small, so you can employ two key tactics, either to build compounds round corners – for example in an L-Shape or right angle at a corner. After all they do not have to be in the same straight line! Another method is to create two compounds using the same element crossing over. This minimises wasted space and maximises points you can get per element.

Neopets Chemistry for Beginners Walkthrough

Each game should contain more or less compounds given and expecting, for this reason there is a specific method you can use to maximise points. However, some levels only follow this pattern up to a certain point and from there on in are randomised. Use this guide up until that point – that point is therefore designated as ‘Random’, but then its common sense and some tips to finish the game.

Below you see a screenshot of the board. Picture it like Battleships; along the top we’re going call each square 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Along the side we’re going to call it A, B, C, D, E and F. The Neopium molecules would be designated as  N=C,2 / N=C,4 / N=E,2 / N=E,4

Chemistry for Beginners neopets

Using this logic, use the following as a guide to the optimal placing of each molecule per level. If in any case something doesn’t quite match up to your game, you’ve either made a mistake or Neopets changed the formula. Without further ado:

Level 1 N=C,3
Level 2 T=D,2 / T=D4 / N=A,1 / T=A,2 / N=A,3
Level 3 N=F,1 / T=B,3 / N=D,1 / N=D,3 / N=F,3 / T=C,6 / N=D,6 / T=D,5 / N=A,1 / T=C,5

neopets Chemistry for Beginners
Hey! This walkthrough makes molecular science easy!

Neopets Chemistry for Beginners Cheats

  • Throughout the first couple of levels, the only options are to make smaller chains of molecules, but as the levels progress and the game gets harder there are more points at stake. For a high score or even a trophy, planning is crucial. Make sure to plan for the 10 point combinations as much and wherever you can.
  • Whilst clearing a board earns you five points, it is not the object of the game and sometimes can make it harder for yourself.
  • Chains of molecules do not have to be in a straight line, they can bend round corners, and you can cross them over in a cross or T-Shape for more points per molecule.
  • Few other games on Neopets this applies to as much as Chemistry for Beginners, but like everything: practise makes perfect!

Neopets Cellblock Guide

Neopets Cellblock is a classic one-on-one strategy game played by the inmates and guards in the Darigan Citadel dungeon, high above Meridell.  They have to do something to pass the time!  As you can imagine, they have had lots of practice and some of the elite Cellblock players are quite good.  If you can make it through the tournament-style gameplay all the way to the top tier, you will have to square off against none other than the Cellblock master himself, Master Vex!

How to Play Cellblock

The Cellblock game board, simply put, is a grid.  You and your computer opponent take turns placing stones of respective colours on the grid, one at a time.  Your ultimate goal is to complete a line of five consecutive stones of your colour before your opponent.  The lines can be vertical, horizontal or diagonal.  Seems easy, right?  Well your opponent’s job is to do everything possible to stop you from completing your five stone streak.

In the early tournaments, the game board begins with two of each coloured stone in the centre of the grid in a 2×2 arrangement.  On your turn, you may only place a stone on a cell adjacent to a stone already on the board. As you progress through the game to the later tournaments, these four initial stones will no longer appear at the start of the game, starting Tournament 10.  Additonally, with the disappearance of the starting stones comes a new challenge: random cells will be filled with rock obstacles which render the cell unusable.  Beyond Tournament 1, you do not need to play your stone adjacent to a stone on the board, but may place it anywhere you’d like.

Cellblock Game Setup

Cellblock is set up as a series of games against different opponents.  You must beat your opponent in at least half of the games to win the series and advance to the next opponent.  As you progress through the tournament opponents, the number of games per series increases.  Below is a summary of the various opponents and the number of games in their respective series.

Opponent Number of Wins Needed to Advance
Prisoner One – Clop 1/3
Prisoner Two – Barallus 1/3
Prisoner Three – Squire Meekel 1/3
Prisoner Four – The Yellow Knight 3/5
Prisoner Five – Number Five 3/5
Guard One – Galgarrath 4/7
Guard Two – Haskol 4/7
The Warden – Master Vex 5/9

Each computer player is “smarter” than the previous, so as the series get longer, the game becomes harder as well.  If you manage to best Master Vex, you will advance to the next tournament and begin at Prisoner One again.  But here comes the worst news yet:  the players get “smarter” as the tournaments progress as well.  Don’t be surprised if you find yourself beating beat up on by Prisoner One in Tournament 14.

Cellblock Prizes

So, what are you rewarded with for all of your hard work?  Neopoints, trophies and an avatar!  Each round costs neopoints to play, but if you win, your payout is 4:1.  Prizes are summarized below:=

Cellblock Cheats and Tips

  • Always try to keep your opponent on the defensive.  You have the advantage of playing first, so always use your one-move head start to threaten your opponent.
  • Always go out of your way to prevent your opponent from making a line of four consecutive stones without one of your stones on the end of the line.  If this happens, you are guaranteed to lose on the next turn.  To avoid this, always keep an eye out for three in a row without blockers and place a stone to block your opponent from achieving four in a row.
  • Sometimes, when playing the early opponents in Tournament 2+, you can confuse the computer by placing leaving a one cell gap between a pair of stones and your active stone.  The computer does not realize that you can place a stone in the void on your next turn to create a line of four!  Unfortunately, your opponents catch on to this strategy in later tournaments.

Cellblock

Well, you are ready to brave into the dark dungeons of the Citadel and try your luck at this fun prison yard game.  Be careful though, Master Vex is very sore loser.  Make sure you don’t end up becoming “Prisoner Six”. 😉
