Neopets Underwater Fishing (Ye Olde Fishing Vortex)

Ye Olde Fishing Vortex is the place to try your hand at Underwater Fishing. With your active pet, you can attempt to go fishing all day but the average wait time between successful catches is 12 to 14 hours. The items that your pet will fish up depend on their fishing level. Your pet’s fishing level will increase the more you fish with the pet. There is no specific time of day or items that will increase your chances of success.

Underwater Fishing Link

The underwater fishing pool is located in Maraqua. Near the bottom right of the map, you’ll see the link to the Maraquan Ruins. From there, you can find Ye Old fishing Vortex in the upper left of the map. Or you can skip all of that and click the Ye Old Fishing Vortex link here.

Underwater Fishing Cheats

Currently, the maximum fishing level is 500. Fishing level is connected directly to your active pet and to your account. If a pet with a high fishing level is moved to a new account, its level will be reset to level one. However, if that pet is brought back to the account where it gained the initial levels, those levels will be restored. In short, Fishing level 250 Pet is moved from Account A to Account B and becomes Fishing Level 1 Pet; When Fishing Level 1 Pet moves back to Account A, it becomes Fishing Level 250 Pet again. You can view your pet’s lookup to see what their current fishing level is under the stat “Fishing Skill.” Each pet has their own fishing skill stat so you’ll need to switch up active pets if you want all your pets to have a high level. Gaining levels only happens if you successfully catch an item from the vortex. The list below shows the lowest recorded possible level to find each item. All of these items are unique to the fishing vortex.

Neopets Underwater Fishing

Special Neopets Fishing Items

Among its exclusive items, the vortex has special items that have unique properties when used. These items tend to be a rare catch but will fetch a good price if you’re lucky enough to fish one up.

The Mysterious Swirly Potion is a one-use item that will turn your pet into a random limited edition pet. The list of limited edition pets are Chomby, Cybunny, Grundo, Kiko, Koi, Jetsam, Lutari, Poogle, Tonu, Hissi and Ruki. The potion is especially useful because it will change your pet into an LE species while maintaining the current color of the pet, as long as the color is also available for the new species. If the color is not available for the new species, than the pet will turn a random basic color. For example, if you use a Mysterious Swirly Potion on your Ice Korbat, and the potion turns it into a Poogle, then the Poogle would not be Ice, since there is no Ice Poogle color available. The Poogle would be red, blue, green or yellow instead.

The Flask of Rainbow Fountain Water is similar to the Mysterious Swirly potion. However, this time when used on a pet, the pet will keep its current species and will instead turn a random color. The flask is also one-use. Unlike the fountain that it is named after, the Flask of Rainbow Water can turn your pet ANY color, with the only exception being the Ice color for Bori. That means that coveted colors such as Robot are available when using this item. You will also not receive the “Buzzin” avatar from this item, as it does not count as a dip into the Rainbow Fountain.

The Irritable Genie-in-a-Bottle is a one-use item that raise your pets stats. Your pet can gain between 1-3 levels from the Genie.

The Fishing Made Easy book will increase your pets intelligence like any other book but it will also increase your pet’s fishing skill instantly by 1-3 levels.

The Pant Devil Attractor is an inexpensive item, but it is highly usefully. When this item is in your inventory, it attracts the Pant Devil and he will most likely steal the attractor than any other item. So hording attractors in your inventory is especially useful when borrowing irreplaceable lending items like BGC, SuAP or MSPP.

Neopets Fishing Avatar

To obtain the avatar, your pet must fish up a Titanic Giant Squid. The squid is available around level 80+ so your pet will have to become a diligent fisher to gain the opportunity. However, do not be surprised if you find your pet is past level 80 and has not found a squid. Items fished from the vortex are random, so it might take awhile before you’re fortunate enough to find one.

Neopets TDMBGPOP

In the whimsical world of Neopia, there are countless characters and items, but few evoke as much intrigue and curiosity as the Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie of Prosperity. Affectionately known as TDMBGPOP, this little plushie has captured the hearts of Neopians since its debut during the Guildmaster’s Dinner Logic Puzzle in 2004. With its lonely expression and mysterious backstory, TDMBGPOP remains a topic of speculation and fascination. This guide explores the origins, theories, and hidden locations of this beloved plushie.

TDMBGPOP neopets

What is the TDMBGPOP?

The Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie of Prosperity is a charming, yet melancholic, little plushie that appears to have been forgotten on a cloud in Faerieland. It possesses a unique expression that seems to convey loneliness, which is enough to elicit sympathy from anyone who encounters it. Upon visiting, players may notice the plushie makes one of two facial expressions: a bewildered “0_o” or a simple “…”. These subtle responses add to the plushie’s mystique, hinting at a deeper story that players have yet to uncover.

The Mystery Behind TDMBGPOP

When TDMBGPOP first emerged during the Guildmaster’s Dinner, players speculated about its purpose. Many assumed it would play a significant role in the plot, potentially leading to new quests or storylines. However, after the plot concluded, TDMBGPOP’s role faded into obscurity, giving rise to numerous theories regarding its true significance.

One prevailing theory suggests that the plushie’s existence is a commentary on the whimsical yet often cruel nature of Neopian lore, as it is deliberately left alone and forgotten. While many theories have circulated over the years, none have definitively answered the plushie’s purpose. Instead, it remains a whimsical enigma, reflecting the imaginative spirit of Neopia.

Where Can You Find TDMBGPOP (Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie of Prosperity)?

Despite its endearing nature, the Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie of Prosperity can be quite elusive. Here’s where to look for it:

  1. Location: TDMBGPOP resides on a lonely cloud situated above Jhudora’s Cloud in Faerieland.
  2. Spotting the Plushie: Players need to be observant to find this plushie. Look for a small blue dot on the cloud—specifically, it’s located on the left side of the image, more towards the center. The dot is tiny and can be easily overlooked.
  3. Interaction: To interact with TDMBGPOP, hover your mouse over the blue dot and click when close enough. This will reveal the sad little plushie, allowing you to engage with its story.

TDMBGPOP Avatar

The Grundo – Discarded Plushie avatar is a coveted item among Neopets enthusiasts, offering a unique addition to any avatar collection. To acquire this avatar, players must interact with the Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie of Prosperity (TDMBGPOP), a hidden feature located in Faerieland. Accessing the plushie involves clicking on a specific, unmarked spot on the Faerieland map, situated near the Wheel of Excitement. Once found, players can “talk” to the plushie once per day, leading to various random outcomes.

The process of obtaining the avatar is entirely random and may require multiple visits to the plushie. Each interaction can result in different events, such as changes in your active Neopet’s mood or hunger levels, small Neopoint rewards, or receiving exclusive plushie items. Among these potential outcomes, there’s a chance that the Grundo – Discarded Plushie avatar will be awarded. It’s important to note that there are no specific actions or conditions that increase the likelihood of receiving the avatar; persistence and daily visits are key.

Some players speculate that visiting the plushie during the Winter Starlight Celebration might enhance the chances of obtaining the avatar, but this theory remains unconfirmed. Therefore, the most reliable strategy is to consistently visit the TDMBGPOP daily. Given the random nature of this event, patience is essential, as it may take numerous attempts before the avatar is granted.

In summary, acquiring the Grundo – Discarded Plushie avatar involves daily interactions with the Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie of Prosperity in Faerieland. While the process is random and may require persistence, the unique avatar serves as a rewarding addition for dedicated Neopets players.

Theories and Speculations

Over the years, Neopians have concocted numerous theories regarding TDMBGPOP’s role in the greater Neopian narrative. Here are some of the more notable ones:

  • The Abandoned Plushie Theory: Some players believe that TDMBGPOP represents the forgotten items in Neopia, echoing the sentiment that many players overlook or discard items.
  • A Symbol of Hope: Others suggest that the plushie’s forlorn state serves as a reminder to embrace hope and kindness, particularly in a world that can sometimes seem harsh and unfair.
  • An Inside Joke by TNT: A more lighthearted theory posits that the plushie was created by TNT (The Neopets Team) as a tongue-in-cheek reference to their penchant for leaving mysteries unresolved, effectively driving players “up the wall” with curiosity.

Community Engagement

The Neopian community has embraced TDMBGPOP, often sharing their encounters and theories on various Neopian forums and boards. Players frequently discuss their emotional responses to the plushie, highlighting the connection many feel to this seemingly insignificant character. Fan art and stories have emerged, celebrating TDMBGPOP’s charm and mystery.

Conclusion

The Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie of Prosperity stands out as one of Neopia’s most intriguing enigmas. Its presence sparks curiosity and speculation, encouraging players to engage with the world in a deeper way. While the plushie’s ultimate purpose remains elusive, its impact on the Neopian community is undeniable. Whether you stumble upon TDMBGPOP by chance or seek it out intentionally, this little plushie serves as a reminder of the magic and mystery that define the world of Neopets.

Neopets Giant Jelly

The Giant Jelly is located in the center of the very unreal Jelly World, this giant blob of jelly has many different flavors that you can randomly receive. You can only take one piece of jelly per day or you will be warned by the very frightening Jelly Keeper!

neopets jelly

While everything in Jelly World seems to be made of jelly, this particular giant jelly is the one that Neopians are actually allowed to eat!

What Is the Giant Jelly?

The Giant Jelly is a huge mound of deliciousness that provides free jelly to all visitors, similar to the Giant Omelette in Tyrannia. Every day, you can stop by Jelly World and grab a piece of jelly at no cost. But be warned: despite the jelly’s massive size, thousands of Neopians flock to it daily. If you’re too late, you might find that all the jelly has been eaten by other hungry Neopians!

Giant Jelly neopets

How to Get Jelly from the Giant Jelly

To claim your free jelly, simply visit the Giant Jelly once per day and click the “Grab a Piece” button. As long as the jelly hasn’t run out, you’ll receive one of many potential jellies (see the Prizes section below for details). If the jelly has been fully consumed, you’ll be greeted by the Jelly Keeper, who will kindly inform you that the jelly is currently empty.

You can try again later, as a new jelly will eventually be assembled to satisfy the endless hunger of Neopia’s jelly enthusiasts!

The Jelly Keeper at the Giant Jelly

At random times during the day, you may encounter the Jelly Keeper, a rather odd and comical guard of the Giant Jelly. This happens when the jelly has run out, and no more pieces can be claimed for the time being. The Jelly Keeper also appears if you attempt to grab more than one piece of jelly in a single day, sternly reminding you that Neopians are only allowed one serving per day.

Here’s what you’ll see if the jelly is gone:

“The Giant Jelly has been eaten!”

Don’t worry! The Giant Jelly replenishes itself throughout the day, so you can return later to grab your piece.

Eating the Jelly: How It Works

Much like omelettes from the Giant Omelette, jellies from the Giant Jelly can be used to feed your Neopets more than once. When you feed a jelly to your Neopet, it will shrink from a whole jelly to a half jelly. After feeding the half jelly to your Neopet, the jelly will be completely gone.

Here’s the process:

  1. Whole Jelly: When you first claim a piece of jelly, it starts as a whole jelly.
  2. Half Jelly: After feeding your pet a whole jelly, it becomes a half jelly.
  3. Finished Jelly: After your pet eats the half jelly, the jelly is completely consumed, and your inventory is clear of it.

This is true for most jellies, though there are a few varieties that work a little differently, like the trifles the Giant Jelly occasionally gives out.

Jelly Effects: Beware of Certain Jellies!

While most jellies are harmless and provide a tasty treat for your Neopet, there are a couple of jelly varieties you may want to avoid—unless you’re feeling adventurous! Two types of jelly can have negative effects on your Neopet’s health when eaten:

  1. Poisonous Jelly: Feeding this to your pet may result in them catching Neomonia, a nasty illness that you’ll need to cure with a visit to the Healing Springs or by purchasing medicine from the pharmacy.
  2. Glowing Jelly: While this jelly looks cool, it can cause Blurred Vision in your Neopet. This could lead to some amusing mishaps, like your Neopet stumbling around and accidentally knocking over your favorite Neopian artifacts.

However, some Neopians believe that there’s a very small chance that feeding a Half Eaten Glowing Jelly to your Neopet could turn them into the Glowing color! This is rare and unconfirmed, but some players are willing to take the risk.

For more information on how to treat these illnesses, check out the Neopian Diseases and Cures Guide.

Giant Jelly Prizes : What Can You Win?

There are numerous types of jelly that you can receive from the Giant Jelly, some of which are more common than others. While most of these jellies aren’t particularly valuable on the trading post, there are a few rarer varieties that you might be lucky enough to snag!

Here are some of the jellies you might find in the Giant Jelly:

  • Strawberry Jelly
  • Lime Jelly
  • Orange Jelly
  • Blueberry Jelly
  • Pepper Jelly (for the more adventurous Neopet!)
  • Lemon Jelly
  • Chocolate Jelly
  • Glowing Jelly
  • Poisonous Jelly
  • Trifle

While rarer jellies may not fetch a huge price on the market, it’s always exciting to score one of these unique treats. Plus, feeding your pet jelly is a fun and free way to keep them happy and full!

Helpful Tips for Jelly Collectors

1. Check Early in the Day

Since the Giant Jelly can run out, it’s a good idea to visit Jelly World earlier in the day to ensure you get your daily jelly. While the jelly replenishes throughout the day, grabbing it early increases your chances of avoiding the dreaded “Jelly has been eaten” message.

2. One Jelly Per Day

Remember, you can only take one piece of jelly each day. Trying to grab more will only result in the Jelly Keeper giving you a stern (but humorous) reminder.

3. Feed Your Pet in Multiple Servings

Jellies are a great way to save on food, as one whole jelly provides two meals. Feed your Neopet a whole jelly first, then save the half jelly for another mealtime. This way, you stretch your free jelly into two meals!

4. Trade or Collect Rare Jellies

Even though most jellies aren’t worth much, some players enjoy collecting rarer jellies or trading them with other Neopians. If you manage to grab a Poisonous or Glowing Jelly, it’s a fun addition to any collection, or you can try to trade it with others who might be looking for rare items.

Final Thoughts

The Giant Jelly is one of Neopia’s sweetest daily stops. Whether you’re collecting rare jellies, feeding your Neopet for free, or just enjoying the fun atmosphere of Jelly World, this is a place you’ll want to visit every day. Just be sure to watch out for those mischievous jellies that might leave your Neopet feeling a little under the weather!

So grab a spoon (or a dart?), head over to Jelly World, and enjoy the gooey goodness of Neopia’s most delicious daily!

A regular Symol Hole URL looks something like this once a choice is selected:
http://www.neopets.com/medieval/symolhole.phtml?type=end&e=0&rnd=483734

See the e=0 part? If you replace 0 with one of the numbers below, you can see what results you can get.

0 : Nothing happens.

2 : Awards you an item.
3 : Awards you an item.
