Neopets League 54 (L54)

Neopets League 54 is a Battledome league that will give you the opportunity to train the cheap way, and where many of the best weapons will be bought from the Shop Wizard. Neopets League 54 will not only give you the opportunity to train up the inexpensive way, but will also give you a chance to win with equipment that cost as low as 4 million NP (just like how the winner of the first L54 league has won).

L54 NEOPETSL54 Information

The L54 is the one that will decide whenever a league will be scheduled. There is no absolute fixed dates, and you will have to check its status from time to time, if you are looking to participate in it.

L54 Rules

The rules is what can maintain the league the way it is. For that reason, below you will find a list that will explain briefly what you will have to do in order to participate, and what will not be tolerated/allowed. Note that to participate you must have your HP at 54, your Strength Points between 13 and 19, and your defence points between 35 and 54.

Rule #1: You will not be allowed to have weapons that will do more than 10.0 attack icons. 10.0 is the maximum and everything that can do higher icons than 10.0 is banned from the L54 tournaments.

Rule#2: You will not be allowed to have dual-duties that will do more than 13.0 attack icons. 13.0 is the maximum and everything that can do higher icons than 13.0 is banned from the L54 tournaments.

Rule #3: The full blockers, which means the items that will block 100% of a single icon, and with an attack of more than 5.0 icons will not be allowed during the L54 tournament. Some examples of these restricted weapons are: Hanso Charisma Charm, and Skarls Amulet.

Rule #4: You will not be able to use healers that will heal you with more than 60 HP, and more than 50 HP if overhealed. The Leaded Elemental Vial is allowed simply because it will refill your starting HP, meaning 54 on 54. However, the Short Sleeved Yellow Tunic will be banned from the tournament because it will heal 75 HP, and it is more than 60 HP. For that reason, you will have to respect these limits.

Rule #5: Few shields are banned from the tournament and they are those that will attack their opponent. All other shields will be allowed.

Rule #6: All reflectors are allowed unless these reflectors will not match other rules. The Dark Faerie Collar, even if it is a reflector, breaks other rules and therefore it is not allowed.

Rule #7: The only Faerie Abilities that are allowed, can be of level 1, 5 and 10, nothing else.

Rule #8: You will not be able to use HP drainers like the Battle Plunger, the Glowing Cauldron and the Cursed Elixir.

Rule #9: Stealers will not be allowed. Multihealers and Freezers will also not be allowed.

Rule #10: Only few single-use items will be allowed, and they are the Jade Elixir, the Life Giver, the Lucky Robots Foot and the Amulet of Life. All the other single use items are not allowed, meaning they are banned.

Rule #11: Few once-per-battle items will not be allowed like. These weapons are the Caustic Potion and Mud Mixture. All other items that are once-per-battle are allowed.

Rule #12: You will not be able to use boons that were awarded during the Obelisk Battleground during the L54 league, if they affect the gameplay.

Rule #13: You will have to provide a cure for your opponent, by purchasing it yourself for him, if you decide to give him a disease during a battle.

Rule #14: This rule have listed all the weapons that are not allowed and banned from the L54 league. These weapons are: Thyoras Tear, Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield, Caustic Potion, Mud Mixture, Scroll of Three Curses, Ghostkershield, Faerie Tabard, Dr. Sloths Personal Body Armour, and the Castle Defenders Shield.

Rule #15: This rule have listed all the weapons that are exceptions, thus can be used during the L54 league. These weapons break one or more of the previous rules, but will be allowed to use during the tournaments of L54. These weapons are: Twisted Dark Dagger, Deadly Pugio, Devious Top Hat and Cane, and Fighting Folder.

Neopets League 54

L54 Required Build

If you’re looking to participate in the L54 tournaments, you must have a pet that has its HP of 54, 13 STR and 35 DEF. For the STR, since a pet with 13 points can do the same damage as a pet with 19 points, if you have points that are no more, no less than these, then you will be fine. Same thing for defense, which will require you to get between 35 and 54 points.

NEOPETS l54

L54 Strategies

When battling an opponent, you will have to consider a few aspects that will determine if a battle is good or not. For the first aspect, choose a good set of equipment, because otherwise you will not stand a chance against your enemies. You may be asking what a good set is. Bear in mind that you have no information regarding your opponent (whether he has a good set or not, if he has a strategy and if he is prepared). Some of the most common combos that were recorded being used in the L54 can be took into consideration so that one can purchase equipment to be prepared against these. Try to keep an eye about the most used combos too, so that you will know how to defend yourself, etc.

Another thing to note is that you should focus on the advantage you can get. You will not be able to know the precision of your opponent, and for that reason you will not know what to do at first. However, the idea that you should keep in mind is that it is best to deal the higher amount of icons to your opponent for each single turn. Since both pets will have the exact same stats, that way, you will be in the lead.

Try to get a good healing turn, when it is for you to play and to choose if your pet is going to win, or if he is going to draw. You should decide that when the battle comes near its end. For example, if you think that it is a no-win on your side, and that you will have to make a draw. At that time, never worry about your HP and attack your opponent massively, so that you can try to get him at 0 HP, while you become at 0 HP too. However, if you think that the battle is favorable for you, simply defend yourself and attack your opponent. However, it will be harder to win than to draw but keep in mind that if you’re going for a draw, then your opponent is surely going after a win. If you’re going after a win, then your opponent is surely going after a draw.

During a battle, always pay attention to the weapons and to the abilities he will use against you. If your opponent uses all of his weapons, then boom, you know his complete set and you can start playing in your favor.

L54 FAQ

The frequently asked questions concerning the L54 will be described below.

During an L54 tournament, what should I have in my set?
It is considered that you have a healer and 7 different items that will do a total of 10 icons, good shields and dual-duties. L54 will require your to have a good defense when you start going offensive, for that reason you should consider having various types of equipment and not just pure attack, or pure defense.

What is the amount of time a L54 battle will take?
It does really depend about who is battling who and the amount of lag that can be found in the battle, if there is any. Usually, if the game lags a lot and the players decide to go offensive, the fight can take up from 30 minutes to 1 hour. However, if it is running smoothly and players are playing regularly, then the battle may take from 15 to 20 minutes to complete. Again, it all depends of the players and of the equipment they’ve brought with them to fight.

What is the number of turns that are usually found in a L54 battle?

The number of turns is based if the battlers are going defensive or offensive. If there is a lot of defense, then the battle can go up to 15-18 turns, which is very high. However, they will usually last for about 10 turns for them to complete.

I’m looking for the best healer. Recommendations?

You should note that it all depends of your strategy. However, the Purple Scorchstone is the best healer for the L54 tournament, because of its ability to overheal. It is a bit pricey, though, so if you don’t have the NP to purchase it, then you should go after other types of healers.

My Budget is limited. How much should I start with?

As low as 500k NP can get you a good start.

NP to get a good BD set?

At least 5 million NP. With that amount, you will also be able to purchase the Purple Scorchstone to have it in your set of equipment.

But there are people that spend 50M + on L54

Of course, there are. However, the L54 doesn’t actually require that you put all these NP and Drazu, the user who has won the first L54 tournament, has done that with a BD set of 4 million NP.

Where can I find my L54 rank?

L54 rankings are not official yet. Keep an eye, though, it may come someday.

Finally, the L54 is a good competitive league that offers you a chance to win against the greatest battlers of all time, simply because the battling pets will have lower stats, meaning that every one can get there, and because the BD equipment is not very expensive to have.

Dyeworks Guide

Dyeworks is a special section of the NC Mall that opened on 30 June 2014 in which you can duplicate specific items in fun colors! Requiring NC Mall items, this activity requires real money.

Dyeworks

GETTING STARTED WITH DYEWORKS – ITEMS YOU’LL NEED

Before you can begin the dyeing process, you’ll need two specific NC items. The first is called a Dyeworks Hue Brew Potion:

neopets Dyeworks125 NC

These are always available at the NC Mall. After you purchase them, they can be found in your inventory. This also means they can be gifted or sent to other users. Each potion will give you one opportunity to dye an item.

The second item you’ll need is an original wearable item to dye. When you dye an item, you keep the original item and receive a duplicate in another color — so don’t be concerned that you will lose your item if you decide to dye it! The available active items that can be dyed can always be found on the Dyeworks page in the NC Mall and are also listed below.

Active items that can be dyed:

There are three categories of items that can currently be dyed (some of which are available in the NC Mall), and you will need one of the originals in order to use your Dyeworks Potion.

DYEING YOUR ITEM

To start, head to the Dyeworks studio in the NC Mall. There, you will be greeted by a friendly Rainbow Elephante called Loic, the potions master.

Here, you’ll be asked to select which original item you will be dying from the categories Accessories, Clothing, or Trinkets. You must have this item and the Dyeworks Potion in your inventory, so if the item is in your closet or both are in Safety Deposit Box, make sure to remove them.

Simply choose the item you wish to dye and click “Let’s do this!” The colour you receive is random. If you’re aiming for a certain colour, you might have to dye your original item multiple times. Remember: each time you dye requires a new Dyeworks Potion. The item you receive can be found in your inventory along with the original.

NOTES

  • On 21 December 2014, a special Dyeworks Potion was released with the Advent Calendar,Dyeworks Holiday Hue Brew Potion:Neopets Dyework It offered a festive design when used at the Dyeworks studio.

Neopets BD Battling Guide (For Newcomers)

The Neopets Battledome is, obviously, a dome where you will be able to fight against other challengers to see if you’re strong enough to win, or not. One player challenges can be fought against, which are opponents that are controlled by the computer. Alternatively, you can decide to go fight against real pets owned by real player in the 2 player mode that is also offered to you. The Neopets Battledome can also give you a site trophy, for example, after beating the Punchbag Bob, and it will grant you themes after plots. It all start with misinformation, then it comes to anger, then to bloody battles where there will be only one victorious. If you’re really curious about knowing who the predator is, and who the prey is, then the Neopets Battledome is where you must go.

Neopets Battling GuideNeopets Battling Basics

Your pet has a stats that are not a waste of space, but they rather describe the skills of your current pet(s). Any pet will have HP, which are health points and are the most fundamental points, simply because no HP = loss. What comes next is the strength of your pet, which determines how many total damage can be done to your opponent, depending of your weapons. Another factor is your defence, which is what keeps you standing in the battle for x amount of time. Agility, which is let down by many BD players, is not as crucial as strength and defence, but all of these factors will have a more detailed description below.

You may also want to equip your pet with weapons, otherwise how would it be possible to battle? To do that, it will all depend of the amount of NP you have. The more you play games, the more NP you will get and the better BD weapons will be available to you, simply because your budget will be greater then. Of course, some of the best BD weapons will cost millions, but this should not be a problem for you as there is a big variety of highly rated weapons for new BD starters. To equip a weapon to your pet, simply go to your inventory, click on the desired item and choose the “Equip to (Name of Pet)”. Note: Make sure that if you have a ferocious pet, for example, like a Grarrl, to not feed it to him as there will be no refund given to you.

Many weapons can also be obtained through events and plots that come to Neopets once in a while, and where you will be able to participate to get some of better weapons. Note that even if the awarded weapon(s) don’t suit your needs, you will be able to sell a big amount of your prizes and receive a lot of NP, raising your budget and leading you to get better NP weapons, slowly but surely.

Battledome for BeginnersTraining your Neopet

Training your pet will give you more success in the Battledome. To train your pet, there are various ways. For example, you can purchase the Secret Laboratory, which can be accessed once a day after you purchase all 9 maps that will cost you approximately 1.5 million NP. Expensive you say? Not quite. The Secret Laboratory Maps are very important when you play Neopets because of their ability to boost or to damage your pet. The lab will not only change the color of your pet to almost any, or change your pet’s specie / gender, but it will also give or take points to / from your strength, defence, agility and HP. Note that it will not be able to take maximum hit points.

If you’re not the type of person who likes to take gambles, alternatively, you can decide to train at the Swashbuckling Academy that is located in Krawk Island, and take courses from a Pirate that will ask you to pay him with dubloons, which will cost you approximately 2,000 NP. You will have to start by raising up its level first, then you will be able to increase his / her strength, defence, agility and HP. Every course will take time, depending on its level and the more he will progress, the pricier the courses will get. Though, you should note that even if the Swashbuckling Academy is cheap enough, your pet will not be able to achieve a higher level than 40. Because of that, you should consider the Mystery Island Training School, which is obviously located at the Mystery Island and which will be a little more pricey but faster, and there you will be able to train your pet up to level 250.

Neopets Battledome BasicsAttack

Of course, you will want to do damage in the Battledome, unless you’re just in there to look at your opponent. You literally have no chance of winning if you’re not going to do some damage. You should know that the damage done is calculated by the number of the icons that the specific weapon does. The possibly icons that can be done through a battle are:

Air, Earth, Dark, Light, Fire, Water and Physical damage.

Weapons have attack icons they can inflict to your opponent. You guessed right, the more icons you do, the more damage you deal to your opponent. For that reason, the weapons with massive icons will be able to deal the more damage. To know the amount of damage you are going to deal, you will have to consider the strength of your pet. Below is a little explanation that will describe the number of damage done per icon to your opponent, out of him maximum HP, depending on your strength.

Damage done per icon depending of your pet’s strength:

Having 7 or less strength points will do a total of 0.5 damage to your opponent per icon. For example, if you have a sword that does 6 icons, and you have less than 7 strength, you will do a total of 6 x 0.5 = 3 icons. Having from 8 to 12 strength point will do 0.75 damage to your opponent. When the damage done is below 1 for the lower strength points, it is not really in your advantage to start battles. Wait to reach from 13 to 19 strength points, atleast, because then you will be able to start doing 1 damage per icon. From 20 to 34 strength points, you will be able to deal 1.25 damage per icon and from 35 to 54 points, a total of 1.5 damage per icons. 55-84 strength points will get you 2 damage per icon and 85-124 strength points, 2.5 damage per icon. Once you reach the 125 point mark, you will be able to do 3 damage per icon and it will take longer, with more effort to do more damage. Once you reach 200 strength point, a total of 0.5 damage per 49 points will be added. For example, from 200 to 249, you can do 4.5 damage per icon, from 250 to 299, you will be able to do 5 damage per icon, etc. However, from 450 strength points to 499, you be able to do 1.25 more damage, then every 49 points will start awarding you with 1 damage per icon. The reason behind that is once you reach the 400 strength points, it will become really pricey and hard to train up, because of the amount of NP and because of the time it will take you to get there. You should note that there are also items that are able to give you some extra strength points. Finally, when you reach level 750, you will be able to deal 16 damage per icon, which is a lot and it is not possible to do more damage than that. For example, a pet with 750 strength points will do the exact same damage per icon (16) to a pet that is level 10,000. At this point, strength doesn’t matter anymore.

If you’re wondering how many damage you will be doing to your opponent, before the battle even starts, you should look at your strength points and refer to the guide above to calculate. For example, if your pet has 31 strength points, and from the guide above, you can find that from 20-34 strength points you will be able to deal 1.25 damage per icon. For that reason, you can look at the amount of icons your weapon does and multiply that number by 1.25, and you should get the maximum amount of damage you will be able to do with that specific weapon. Since, during a battle, you will also be able to use another equipped item at the same time, if you’re planning on going pure attack, you should also calculate the other weapon’s amount of damage, then do Weapon 1 damage + Weapon 2 damage. This way, you will get a good idea about what you can deal.

Defense

Defense works like the attack, meaning that you will be able to defend yourself of icons depending of the number of defense points you have. Note that you will have to own the weapon that defends you from the icons of your opponent to be successfully able to block it. For example, if your opponent is attacking you with Sword of Reif, which is a combination of physical and fire damage, and that you only have a shield that will block water, then you will receive full damage. You can’t just rely on your defense to minimize the damage. It doesn’t work like that: you will have to block the icons of your opponent in order to avoid damage. The guide below will give you an idea about the amount of damage you will be able to block per icon, depending on your defense points. The damage means the number of HP that will be taken from you, when attacked.

Having 7 or less defense points will do a total of 0.5 damage to your opponent per icon. For example, if you have a shield that blocks 6 icons, and you have less than 7 defense, you will be able to avoid a total of 6 x 0.5 = 3 icons. Having from 8 to 12 defense point will avoid 0.75 damage that are done by your opponent. When the damage done to you is below 1 for the lower defense points, it is not really in your advantage to start battles. Wait to reach from 13 to 19 defense points, at least, because then you will be able to start blocking 1 damage per icon, if you have a shield, of course. From 20 to 34 defense points, you will be able to block 1.25 damage per icon and from 35 to 54 points, a total of 1.5 damage per icons can be blocked. 55-84 defense points will get you 2 damage block per icon and 85-124 defense points, 2.5 resistance per icon. Once you reach the 125 point mark, you will be able to avoid a total of 3 damage per icon and it will take longer, with more effort to do avoid more damage. Once you reach 200 defense point, a total of 0.5 damage per 49 points will be blocked. For example, from 200 to 249, you can avoid 4.5 damage per icon, from 250 to 299, you will be able to avoid 5 damage per icon, etc. However, from 450 defense points to 499, you will be able to block 1.25 more damage, then every 49 points will start awarding you with 1 defense per icon. The reason behind that is once you reach the 400 defense points, it will become really pricey and hard to train up, because of the amount of NP and because of the time it will take you to get there. You should note that there are also items that are able to give you some extra defense points. Finally, when you reach level 750, you will be able to fully block 16 damage per icon, which is a lot and it is not possible to block more damage than that. For example, a pet with 750 defense points will block the exact same damage per icon (16) to a pet that is level 10,000. At this point, defense doesn’t matter anymore.

If you have 750 defense points and your opponent has 750 strength points, you will be able to avoid the damage done by your opponent only if you can block all of his icons. Let’s say your opponent has a weapon that can do 10 water icons to you along with 2 light icons. As for you, the only thing you have is a Sponge Shield that can block all of his water icons. You will not be able to block his light icons, though, which means that he will be able to do 2 more icons to you that you will not be able to block. That means a total of 2 x 16 = 32 damage will be done to you by your opponent. This is why shields in the game are important: because even if you have enough defense points, but don’t necessarily have the shields that will be able to block a large amount of icons that are done by your opponent, you will then lose a lot of HP. For that reason, you should also make sure that you only fight against a pet after a logic estimation of whether it will be a fair battle for you or not. Some people tend to think that they’ve trained their pet hard enough and they think they can’t lose a single battle. This is not true. If you go up against someone who has more strength/defense points than you, you will be putting yourself in a luck-based battle, which is something you don’t want. If you’re attempting to send a battle challenge or someone sends one to you, always view his pet to make sure that his/her HP, strength, and defense points are relatively similar to yours, or worse.

Lastly, you should consider the defense points of your opponent depending of your strength, and the other way around to calculate the amount of damage you would like to block. If you have a total of 102 strength points, and your opponent has a total of 95 defense points, the amount of icons he will not be able to block from you will add a total of 0.5 damage to him, because it is like if he has 7 defense points (102-95 = 7, and at 7 points a total of 0.5 damage can be done).

Agility

Agility is only important if you’re looking to steal weapons from your opponent, for the battle time. The Heavy Robe of Thievery is currently what can steal stuff from your opponent’s BD equipment, and the chances will vary depending of the amount of agility points you have, and the amount of intelligence points you have. Agility is not really an important factor in battle, therefore it is not important for many of the players and this is why many pets have agility not trained up. People will focus on strength and defense points, which are essential in battle and will save NP / time from raising their agility points. This is a good option for those who do not want to steal items from their opponents. However, you should note that if you decide not to train it at the same time as your strength and defense points, and that you change your mind later, it will cost you more NP and time to do so simply because your level will be higher then, and courses will get more expensive.

195_63baaec8ee-4138298

Healing

During a battle, your vital points are measured depending on the total amount of HP your pet has. Once you have 0 of them left, you will then lose the current battle and your opponent will be victorious. In the contrary, if you defeat your weapon, it will mean that he has 0 HP left and he will lose the battle. Let’s say you lose a battle with your pet, he will be at 0 HP and you will have to raise his HP back again. Several Healing Potions can be found in the shop wizard that can help the process of recovery. Most people, however, prefer to use the Healing Springs located in Faerieland. A faerie will raise your points depending of the amount of magic she currently have. If you have a lot of strength points to recover, you can, alternatively, use a Super Strength Healing Potion that can give you back your maximum HP for roughly 2,000 NP.

During a battle, you will sometimes face circumstances where your HP will be very low and you’re about to lose the battle. Some potions, also called Elixirs will be able to be in your BD equipment set during the battle, and will help you to recover your HP whenever needed. Note that only one healing potion / item can be equipped to your pet during the battle. You can not equip more than one. Full healers like the Leaded Elemental Vial and the Jade Scorchstone also exists, which are fundamental for the higher battles and they will cost millions of NP simply because the demand is so high, and there are very few of them.

It is also possible to overheal. For example, if you use a Blue Scorchstone (an overhealer), you will be able to get more hit points than your maximum. For example, if you have 100/100 HP, you will be then at 115/100 and this can be used to your advantage. Extra hit points will only last for the rest of the turn, meaning that you they will get back at 100/100 if your opponent doesn’t attack you. If your opponent attacks you and do 20 damage to you, you will then be left with 95 HP.

197_ae56e49c4f-6629254

Reflectors

During a battle, you will have the opportunity to use items that will reflect the damage done to you by your opponent. A Shovel Plus and some Lens items will be able to reflect some damage, depending of their current effect. Reflection is good because not only it will defend you from your opponent’s attacks, but it will also be able to deal the damage that your opponent tried attacking you with.

ghostkerchief_giant-2153558

Freezings

Not actual account freezing, but you may want to learn that you can also freeze your opponent during a battle. You will have the chance to add a freezing weapon into your BD set to freeze your opponent and be able to take some advantage over him. This will prevent your opponent from attack during a turn and you will be able to attack him / deal with him the amount of damage you can possibly do. You will also not be able to take any damage during that specific turn.

Freezers will have a freeze rating and it will depend of the freezer itself. You can find a freezer with low to average chance of freezing, and you will also be able to find 100% and multi freezers, which are better.

The less than 100% freezer will freeze your opponent, for example if you use a Red Frost Canon against him. However, you will not be guaranteed to successfully freeze him and once you’ve tried to and have succeeded or failed, you will not be able to be able to use your weapon again during the same battle. Only one freezing attempt can be tried per battle.

The 100% freezers will be able to freeze your opponent once you use the freezing item you have. On many occasions, people will use 100% at the beginning of a 2-player battle so that they can start with a large advantage over their opponent and this will increase their chance of being victorious, simply because the way a battle starts will, most of the time, determine who will win and who will not.

The multi freezers are good for higher leveled pets, simply because they have more HP and will be able to stay in a battle for a longer period of time. Because multi freezers have usually a low chance of freezing, at approximately 15%, you will not be always able to freeze your opponent. These weapons are multi use, though, and if you’re lucky enough with them, you will be able to freeze your opponent a lot of times, leading you to victory.

morguss-8240344

Item Types

Not all items can be used the same way. Some will stay, and some will go afterward. For that reason, you should know the item types and learn what can be used many times, and what can only be used once. Their description will tell you the item type they are, so that you can make sure you don’t waste your NP because you didn’t know x weapon was that type.

The first item type is when a weapon has the Multiple Use tag. The multiple use means that you can attack with that specific weapon the amount of time you’re looking for, and it will never unavailable, unless your opponent steals it from you. With multiple use items, you can do damage with that item as many times as you wish during the battle, simply because they can be used, theoretically, an infinite amount of times.

The other item type that a weapon can have is the once-per-battle, and their type gives your the perfect idea of their use: one once per battle. Items such as healers and freezers. Also, bombs like the Ghostkerbomb, for example, will only be able to be used once per turn. Just like in real life: when you have a bomb and throw it away you will not be able to throw it again because it will be exploded then. Usually, bombs will do a massive amount of damage and this is the reason they can not be used more than once, otherwise it will be unfair. Same thing for healers and freezers: imagine you were able to freeze your opponent with a 100% freezer during all the turns and heal yourself with a 100% healer for all the turns, then how will your opponent stand a chance?

After that, comes the one-use item types which can only be used once and will vanish forever afterward, meaning that you should know what you’re doing and not waste your NP. Many items that are worth millions of NP are also one-use only. For example, the Eraser of the Dark Faerie, which almost no one has and costs 200 million NP is a one use item, but it will allow you to erase the petpet of your opponent permanently. Evil, eh? Try not wasting a lot of NP on one use items unless you know you will need them. For example, if you can not afford the Leaded Elemental Vial. you can purchase a Jade Elixir for 10,000 NP and use it to fully heal yourself. Make sure that you only use these for very important and serious battles.

Another item type is the fragile. Fragile items will have some chance of breaking through the battle and you will not be able to use them again. A fragile item will stay fragile and you will not be able to unfragilise it. When you have one during a combat, even if you don’t actually use it, it can break and it will not be recovered after the battle.

Semi-Fragile items are the last item types you will have to know about. These items are breakable just like the fragile categorized ones, but when they break, even if you will not be able to use them for the rest of the battle, they will remain in your inventory when it is done just like one-used items, but you will not have to actually use it for it to break.

Lastly, most strategies are based on a combination of multi-use and one-use items, which is what you should look forward if you’re planning on crushing all of your opponents.

103-4077296

Abilities

Faerie abilities will grant you an ability that you will be able to use during a battle. A box near your weapons will be available for you to use, but for that you will have to actually train abilities. For that, you will have to purchase Faerie Bottles and use them on your pet. Depending on the Faerie type, you will be given earth, water, air, fire, physical, light or dark abilities by number (usually 1-2 per use). From that, you will be able to go to the Battledome and view your abilities so that you can “purchase” them with your points. Three abilities will be offered for you to learn, per range of levels, and you will only be able to learn of them at the cost of tokens that you got from the faeries. If you change your mind later, you can change the ability but it will cost you more tokens. The higher your level, the more abilities you will be able to learn, and the better they will get. Level 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 are the levels that will offer you an opportunity to learn a new ability.

Now that you have acquired that many information, go battle someone.

Neopets Restocking Guide

Explore this comprehensive guide to discover profitable neopets items in various neopian shops, gaining valuable insights and understanding the trends around them. Elevate your knowledge and make informed decisions for a successful and lucrative restocking experience.

GUIDELINES

▸ Beginner Friendly: My personal insight if the shop is approachable for beginner restockers or not.
▸ Carry: This number is about how much NP you should have on hand if you don’t want to miss something (Due to lack of NPs).
▸ Numbers/Profit: Buy the items that stock for the given amounts. (Exactly the given amounts. If it says 5k, it means 5000. Exactly 5000. 5029? No).
▸ Speed: This is how fast the shop goes (how quickly profitable items disappear) This is usually in proportion to the amount of people in that shop.
▸ Sellability: This shows how easily you can sell an item purchased in this shop.
– ETS = Easy To Sell
– HTS = Hard To Sell
▸ My Comments: Something I (Chips) have to say about this shop.

The Order (in which to go for things):
1. If you see one of these, go for it first.
2. If you don’t see anything mentioned in (1), go for things here.
3. If you don’t see anything mentioned in (1) or (2), go for these and so on.

WHAT IS RESTOCKING?
Restocking is hanging out in official Neopets shops, waiting to buy items to re-sell them in your own shop (or if you’re lucky, on the Trading Post)!

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Restocking seems complicated, but it’s actually quite simple! The only hard part is remembering what you should and shouldn’t buy.

Restocking works by refreshing official Neopets shops, such as the Fresh Food Shop. When you see something you want to buy, click on it and type in your haggle. If you’re quick, the item is yours! Now you can put it into your shop to sell it.

WHY WOULD I WANT TO DO THIS?
Neopoints, of course! There are many items that you can buy from the shops to re-sell at a higher price than you paid, which means profit! Sometimes you buy bait (an item that resells for less than you paid), but that’s okay! It’s part of the learning process.

Some items can be worth into the millions of Neopoints, so it’s a good skill to have!

WHERE ARE GOOD PLACES TO RESTOCK?
Honestly, wherever you like, really! Find shops that interest you. Do you like goodie bags? Check out the toy shop! Do you like plushies? The plushie shop has lots of nice items! There’s no real wrong answer. Just be aware that some shops have more bait items than others, and some (like Kauvara’s Magic Shop) move incredibly quickly, so would be better to tackle once you’re comfortable with restocking.

Shops like Kayla’s Potionery are excellent for new players because people with younger accounts can buy plenty of high-profit items because of their low rarity.

Some shops (like Collectable Cards) are also slow to re-sell, so keep that in mind when choosing shops!

WOAH, DID YOU SAY SOMETHING ABOUT ACCOUNT RESTRICTIONS!?
Yes, unfortunately, because of people breaking the rules, there are account age restrictions on restocking. If you look at your profile, you’ll see a shield saying how long you’ve been on the site.

Age of Account
Rarities Visiable
Newbie
≤ r79
10 Days
≤ r84
16 Days
≤ r89
1 Month
≤ r94
3 Months
≤ r100

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT’S WORTH WHAT?
Restockers like to use the Jellyneo Database for a quick guide! Be aware that it is not 100% accurate, and only good for a ballpark on price. The good news is that you can sort by shop and price, which makes for a good study guide for any new shops you want to check out!

WHAT OTHER TIPS DO YOU HAVE?
Keep a fair amount of Neopoints on hand! You’ll want these to buy up items to put in your shop. Depending on where you restock, you should be carrying anywhere between a couple hundred thousand (yes, that’s right!) to a couple million!

HOW DO I EVEN GET THAT MANY NEOPOINTS TO START!?
Well, there are a few ways! You can start small, picking up small profits until you can build up a reserve. Alternatively, DO YOUR DAILIES! Dailies are so, so important to building your bank! Trudy’s Surprise every day gives so much on its own, plus some dailies give good items to re-sell!

WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO KNOW?
Well, many times if an item is exactly 5,000 or 10,000, it’s a good buy! There ARE exceptions to this rule, but it’s generally a good rule of thumb! Keep this in mind and you’ll be getting r99s in no time!

HOW COME I SEE PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT GETTING BANNED?
Sometimes, Neopets decides you’re refreshing too much or are buying too many nice items. You’ll be slapped with a restocking ban, which means you won’t be able to see any inventory in any shop until it’s lifted. This can last for up to a day (rarely more), but don’t worry! It doesn’t count as any strikes against your account. It happens to ALL of us!

HOW DO I NOT GET RESTOCK BANNED?
It’s not really avoidable, but it helps to slow down your refreshing. 3-5 seconds is a generally good rule to keep in mind!

WHERE DID ALL THE ITEMS IN THE SHOPS GO?
They cleared! The shops clear out their stock periodically, which is great because it means a whole new chance at rare items! Keep refreshing until they stock, but not TOO often! Don’t want to get a restock ban and miss it.

THE SHOPS SAY THEY RESTOCK EVERY 8 MINUTES, BUT THEY HAVEN’T RESTOCKED IN A WHILE! WHAT GIVES?
I’m sorry to say, but those shopkeepers are dirty liars and you should ignore them. A while back, shops functioned differently than they do now (they didn’t fully clear), and when they changed how the system worked, they never updated the text. Inventory can come back within a matter of seconds, or go several clear cycles without stocking.

WHAT’S ALL THIS TERMINOLOGY I SEE IN THE RESTOCK & CHAT THREAD?

Phrase
Meaning
SWI
Shop with inventory/items. These are shops that have stock in them after a clear. People will also ask for this when they are restock banned so they can check on the status of their ban.
Clear
Periodically, the shops will clear themselves of all stock. Get ready for them to stock for those sweet, sweet rare items!
UB
Unbuyable. Something worth more Neopoints than they can be sold for in user shops (where the limit is 999,999).
r99
Generally the holy grail of RSing. High item rarity, often worth a lot of NP.
Junked
The shop didn’t stock anything of real value. Whoops!
ETS
Easy to sell. Self-explanatory!
HTS
Hard to sell. Sometimes, stuff like cards are a bit harder to sell because of a smaller pool of people wanting/needing them.

9. Battle Magic

w9-8986966

▸ Beginner Friendly?: No.
▸ Carry: 300k
▸ Numbers/Profit: Research which items are good in the BD. Anything that stocks in 1s and is in the price range of 60k~100k is probably r99.
▸ Speed: Fast.
▸ Sellability: Varies, commonly HTS.
▸ My Comments: Battle Magic isn’t the same as it used to be and prices are more misleading than ever. On a positive note there has been an increased liking for 2P Battling over the last few years. Faerie Tokens, species freezers, and (of course) BGC are still great!

▸ Beginner Friendly?: No.
▸ Carry: 500k
▸ Numbers/Profit: Pretty much the same rules as for Battle Magic, but there are the “Full -petname- Armour”s that stock here rather frequently. 50% pet healers are good too. Basically, all those things that stock for around 80k~110k are very good.
▸ Speed: Fast.
▸ Sellability: Varies, commonly HTS.
▸ My Comments: Pretty much the same as Battle Magic: Misleading prices in researching beforehand is best, some 2P liking, look at restocker screenies. TTear, Rainbow/Purple SS, Big Reflectors are still great!

▸ Sellability: Greater Healing Scroll is ETS, but like that’s a lot haggling my guy.
▸ My Comments: Don’t go here for profit unless there’s a Battle Event and people are fighting for Scroll of Freezing and Greater Healing Scrolls. This is worth the mention, because a lot of seasoned BDers recommend Greater Healing Scroll even though Wonderous Weaponry’s Helm of Recovery does the same thing. IT’S JUST MORE NOSTALGIC AND ICONIC

▸ Beginner Friendly?: Yes.
▸ Carry: 200k for Swamp Ghoul, but if not then just bring 100k for everything else.
▸ Numbers/Profit: It’s fairly easy to recognize profitable items in this shop, because they pretty much all look the same, except for color differences. This will be explained later.
▸ Speed: Above Average.
▸ Sellability: Average.
▸ My Comments: Although you should buy based on color, it’s always a plus to go for the avatar cards. Everything will sell eventually in reasonable pace, because collectables are just like that.

The Order:

The order to go for things is simple. Just go from rarest to most common, according to the chart below. Exceptions are cards that linger and stock too much.

0. If you ever see a holographic card, then grab it QUICK. All r100s which are notoriously rare.
1. Yellow is r91 and above. Ghoul Catchers, Princess Vyssa, King Roo, Stan the Kyrii, Kreai, The Brain Tree, The Great Blurendo, Krawk card, Princess Sankara, Guardian of Ice Magic, and Korosu Crestscar are bait.
2. Blue and Reds are common Light Faerie Quest Items. Fire Paw and Kasuki Lu are notable.

▸ Beginner Friendly?: Yes.
▸ Carry: 40k

▸ Speed: Fast.
▸ Sellability: ETS.
▸ My Comments: Great shop for beginners albeit it is quite fast! Neggs that reward Negg Points and Bag of Peanuts are the best items for newer accounts. If you mess up then they’ll be someone wanting to still buy low rarity foods for Kad Feeding (up to r95), Kitchen Quest (up to r89), etc.; the profit will just be low. Golden Dubloon foods are technically r100, but I do assume you’d want to see the r99s more than them as they’re more frequent than those guys.

2. Kauvara’s Magic Shop

w2-3532167

▸ Beginner Friendly?: NO, AVOID.
▸ Carry: If you’re going to spend a lot of time here and want to afford expensive MPs, 1.5mil. If you just want the normal morphing potions, 100k should do.
▸ Numbers/Profit: Don’t buy by stock cost, just buy all the MP’s except the ones noted below. Although 10k items are good in most shops, Magic is an exception.
▸ Speed: Very Fast.
▸ Sellability: ETS morphing potions are the limited edition species (Draik/Hissi/Krawk/Lutari) and expensive colours (Maractite/Stealth/Faerie) it depends on the popularity.
▸ My Comments: This is not the shop to start restocking in, you need to be very fast and know what to look for. There are other potions here that aren’t just morphing potions, some are profitable, some aren’t. Look for Kauvara’s Potion, Strange Potion, Rainbow Swirly Potion and things like Water Faerie Bubbles and Light Faerie Dust.

The Order:

1. MPs of expensive colors (Plushie, Darigan, Faerie, Stealthy, Maractite) and Limited Edition Pet potions (Cybunny, Draik, Krawk, Lutari, Ruki).
2. MPs of special colors (Striped, Split, Starry, Electric, etc).
3. Basic color MPs. Although, not all basic color MPs are profitable.

▸ Beginner Friendly?: Partial, but sorta yeah.
▸ Carry: 160k
▸ Numbers/Profit: Most Snowglobes, Faerie Dolls, Snowglobes, Quigukis, Goodie Bags, Stockings, Charms are good! Higher rarity items usually restock for 10k or 12k while most Goodie Bags RS under 5k.
▸ Speed: Very Fast.
▸ Sellability: Slightly HTS, but Goodie Bags and Charms are ETS.
▸ My Comments: Jhuidah Faerie Doll is hard bait. New toys are sometimes worth picking up, since they’re like the only thing TNT is releasing aside from wearables. It’s really up to you to take that chance. Also Broken Toys are HTS, so don’t unironically break them for profit.

▸ Beginner Friendly?: Partial, but sorta yeah.
▸ Carry: 100k
▸ Numbers/Profit: 5k to 10k. Some can be like 8k and 12k too. It is best to do extra research on JN or chatting with other Clothes RSers on what is good here.
▸ Speed: Fast.
▸ Sellability: Varies on species and clothing set, but mostly ETS.
▸ My Comments: This is my favorite shop, but it also can be considered one of the most complicated shops there is. My advice is that you’d want to research what species are popular (Aisha, Draik, Lupe, etc) and not (Ogrin, Techo, Tonu, etc). This is the shop that probably gets the most new releases nowadays, so I would check the New Features for COOL AND NEW things to grab. Also, all the r99s except for Shoyru Pink Aviator Jacket are Petpet Shirts that restock in the top row.

The Order:

1. Popular species (Aisha, Draik, Lupe, etc.) clothing, r99 Petpet Shirts and Shoyru Pink Aviator Jacket, high rarity all species wearables (Steel Nails, 3D Glasses, etc.), and newer wearables (Pretty Net Dress, Illusen Umbrella Cut Dress, and species are hit or miss).
2. Faerie Wings, School Girl Clothing, and Fance Top.
3. Golden Maraquan Trident, Maraquan Fin Wings, Blue Wocky Costume, and Fancy Black Belt.

▸ Why is there like nothing good? How long does it take for X appear?
Restocks and clears are all random.

Restocking is all about having patience for shops to restock, being quick to make the haggle, and then having patience again to sell. It can take minutes to hours for shops to restock/clear and is all random for specific items to appear at all (higher the rarity, the rarer the item). Sometimes those shops will junk but that won’t stop us from trying!

Also, if your account is younger than 3 months, you might have some restocking restrictions:

Age of Account
Rarities Visiable
Newbie
≤ r79
10 Days
≤ r84
16 Days
≤ r89

▸ Why are do all items in shops just suddenly poof? AM I SHOP BANNED ALREADY
That’s what we call a Clear. Shops automatically “clear” out items, so that new items can restock!

If you think there’s a clear or you’re shop banned, you can do the following:
A. Check other shops you wouldn’t normally visit for an SWI (Shop With Items).
B. If you had a shop tab open with stock before the clear, then try to buy an item. If it sends you to the haggle screen rather than a sold out screen, then you’re shop banned.
C. Ask RSers for an SWI to see if there are any items in a shop to verify that you’re shop banned or not.
D. Check on a side account for an SWI (DO NOT RESTOCK ON SIDE ACCOUNTS).

If you are shop banned, don’t worry it’s normal. They can last up to 24 hours if you’re really unlucky.

▸ So I just got unbanned like a minute ago, but I just got shop banned AGAIN? RUDE
There’s this kinda weird speculation that if you try to restock immediately after your shop ban, then you’re get shop banned again. Most seasoned RSers would say to wait awhile before RSing again.

Look at you, getting yourself shop banned all over again. portrait_7-9796318

▸ I JUST WANT THE CHOCOLATE AV!?! GIVE PLS????
I’m sure there’s people on the Restock & Chat Threads that are kindly willing to announce some junk r90s chocolates if you ask politely. You still gotta be fast though.

Oh we’re bad, bad r80s.

▸ Okay, so I restocked three Neggs, am I ready for Magic/Stamps now?
Probably not, but you can try if you have enough NP to be steady afterwards. Magic, Stamps, and other high competition shops can be rage inducing, so it’s best to try out the other lesser competitive shops first. In Magic/Stamps, go prepare to be constantly disappointed in yourself.

▸ How long does it take X to sell? I WANT MY NEOPOINTS AND I WANT IT NOW
Things don’t sell instantly, so have patience. Even if you’re currently the lowest, you might need to reprice after a few days.

i am undercut EVERYBODY

▸ Can I sell items on side accounts?
TL;DR: NO. YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO SELL ITEMS ON YOUR SIDE ACCOUNT.

Neopets Editorial – Issue 701 | Question 3 [link]
Hi! *surrounds you with meepits* I was wondering… if somebody restocks an items on their main, can they sell it on their side? I figured it would be all right since they didn’t restock on their side, but I wanted to check. Thanks! *cages up meepits again* ~ joy3111
Hi, let’s not get crazy here, okay? Good Meepits. Now, on to your question! No, you cannot sell items on your side account, even if you bought them on your main. You are not allowed to do anything that earns Neopoints on your side accounts, so selling items from a side is not allowed.

▸ I got shop banned on my main. Can I restock on side accounts?
TL;DR: NO. YOU WILL BE FROZEN FOR RESTOCKING ON SIDE ACCOUNTS.

Neopets Editorial – Issue 221 | Question 2 [link]
Let’s say you get restock banned on your main account. Can you use a side account to restock and transfer the items to your main accounts, as long as you don’t get freebies or play games? ~ xo_dearjamie
Umm, no. You’re restock banned for a reason. Using another account to bypass that ban is cheating. You’ll have to wait until it’s over before you can restock again.

You just have one shot at this pretty sword!

▸ Can I adblock images, or JS them out?
TL;DR: NO. THAT IS CONSIDERED CHEATING.

Neopets Editorial – Issue 275 | Question 10 [link]
I have recently noticed many restockers get iced. When restocking if you have JS disabled is that considered cheating? ~zlqqlz
Yes, disabling JS or images while restocking is considered giving yourself an unfair advantage over other players, and is not allowed. Even though it’s a browser function and not a 3rd party cheat, it’s still not allowed. Just like opening 100 window tabs and hitting “refresh all” trying to get Random Events will get you frozen faster than you can say, “Geraptiku” (or figure out how to pronounce it; one or the other). Don’t get paranoid, though! If you don’t know if you disabled JS, you most likely haven’t. This question probably doesn’t apply to 99.87% of you, so don’t fret about it if you have no idea what we’re blithering about here.

Just leave the java(script) alone!

▸ Is there like some sort of order items restock at?
Items restock based on their release. You will always see the newer items in the bottom row and the oldest items in the top row.

▸ Do r100s even restock?
Theoretically they do, but we’re not entirely sure if they still do though. :C

Y’all were gonna yell at me if I didn’t include EEC

▸ Do Shops restock/clear at a certain time? I read that they used to.
They used to, but shops do not restock nor clear at specific times anymore.

▸ If I buy out a shop, will it restock faster?
No, you’ll just end wasting a bunch of NP for junk.

▸ How do I sell items worth over Shop Wizard’s limit?
Trading Post (2m max) and Auctions (50m + 50m increment) are there for that.

Heyo howdy!

▸ Does Neopian Inflation is currently at X.XX% mean anything?
It was factored into the estimated price/what the shop stocks at, but since that never changes it doesn’t matter anymore. It’s really just flavour text nowadays.
