Gameplay
The game will start after you click on the first button on the main page. You will be presented with a board that will be about face-down cards that you will have to match. Many Kiko pictures will be found on these cards. You will have to patch the Kiko face you will find with another one that is identical to it. In a short summary, in order to match the cards, they will both have to be with the same background color and with the same kiko picture showing. If they happen to be not the same, they will be flipped back. Your objective in this game is to find all the matching cards on the given boards so that you clear it and take up the points. Note that there will be a timer, so you will have to hurry if you’re after a high score or after the trophy.
A total of fourteen rounds will be played during the game, upon successful completion of the previous level. Each new round will contain new cards, so be ready. This is exactly why you need memorization. After the first round, you may feel a little confident, but wait until you play all of the rounds before you make an opinion. During the first few rounds, you will only see the blue background of the cards. However, as you progress, they will switch to red and change their looking style too. Sometimes you will even see the same card but with a different background. For example, your first card can be a yellow kiko standing on a blue background, while the second card is also a yellow kiko, but standing on a red background. Below is a short summary that will help you understand the cards you will find during each part of the game.
During the first round, you will get 10 seconds total to match four cards. The cards will contain a yellow kiko on a blue background and a blue kiko on a blue background. The second round will give you 15 seconds for successful completion, and you will have to match a total of 6 cards together. A new card will show itself, it is a clear blue kiko on a blue background. The third level will add, again, another 5 seconds for a total of 20. 8 cards will have to be matched and the new card is a red kiko on a blue background. The fourth level is where you will have to match a total of 12 cards within 25 seconds. Two new cards will appear, which are the green kiko on the blue background and the blue kiko on the blue background. During the fifth level, you will get 30 seconds to match 16 cards and a pink kiko, along with a orange kiko, both on a blue background will be on the current level. The sixth round is where things gets complicated. There, the time did not rise by 5 seconds, but by 25! You will have to make a successful combination of 20 cards and the two new cards will be the rainbow kiko on a blue background and a white faced red kiko also on a blue background.
Now, the seventh level is a bit harder because it is the level where you will start facing not only the blue background, but the red ones. For that level, you will get 70 seconds to match 24 cards. As for the two new cards, they are the yellow kiko on the red background, and the blue kiko on the blue background. Yes, the same kikos but on a different background color, so don’t be fooled. The eighth level will give you a total of 85 seconds for a successful completion. The amount of cards you will have to get rid off is 15 and 3 new cards will be there, waiting you. They are the clear blue, red, and green kikos on the red background. The ninth round will give you a total of 105 seconds for a successful completion. You will have to match a total of 36 cards and three new cards will appear. They are respectively the blue kiko on a red background, the orange kiko on a red back ground, and the pink kiko on the red background.
Tenth level: This level is quite hard and will require a lot of memorization because another background color will start appearing. It is the yellow one. First of all, you will get a total of 155 seconds to successfully complete the round, which is 50 seconds more than the round before. The number of cards you will have to match is 42, which is a lot. The last two red background cards will appear, which are the rainbow kiko and the red white faced kiko. The first card that is on a yellow background is the yellow kiko. The eleventh round will add up 15 seconds, meaning a total of 175 and you will have to match correctly 48 cards. Three new cards will appear. These are the blue kiko on the yellow background, the clear blue kiko on the yellow background and the red kiko on the yellow background. The twelfth round will give you 205 seconds to complete it. You will have to match a total of 56 cards and they will be the green kiko on the yellow background, the blue kiko on the yellow background, the orange kiko on the yellow background and the pink kiko on the yellow background. The thirteenth level is the one before the last. It is special because it is incredibly hard to do it successfully. You will start with 255 seconds and it is a hard level because another card type will make apparition: the green background. First, it will contain and finish off the yellow background series, which are the rainbow kiko on the yellow background and the white faced red kiko on the yellow background. After that, there will be the yellow kiko on the green background and the blue kiko on the green background. A total of 64 cards will have to be matched. Last level: If you’ve done the last level successfully, this one shouldn’t be a problem. You will get the same amount of time to complete it, meaning 255 seconds. The four last cards that will appear are the clear blue kiko on the green background, the red kiko on the green background, the green kiko on the green background and the blue kiko on the green background. You will have to match all of the 72 cards! Note that the green background kiko collection is not complete, as they will only start appearing before the last level.
Score & Points
Every time you complete successfully a round, you will be granted with 10 points. 5 points bonus will be given for every second that is remaining on the clock. Think: 10 points for finishing a level and 5 points for every second, that’s just too much! You do not want to waste a single second without reason. For example, if you finish level two and you have 3 seconds remaining on your timer, you will be given 10 + 3 x 5 = 25 points. Currently, the fourteenth round is not accessible. The thirteenth round is where the game will end at. Also, try not to score more than 2,000 points because most of the time they don’t get accepted for some reasons. Keep yourself at 1,995 points. What you can do is when you finish the twelfth round, you calculate how many points you will need to get 1,995. As an example, if you’re at 1,950 points, you will need 45 points. You know that 10 points will be granted upon successful round completion, so you will have to finish the round when you have 7 remaining seconds, because 7 x 5 = 35.
Neopets Kiko Match II Strategy & Tips
During the game, you will be able to type the cheat code “ineedmoretime” once per game to get 15 more seconds. Only use this code when it is needed and when your time is near the end, favorably in the later rounds when they get harder because of the backgrounds and more cards to combine. A good strategy will be to start from the top left and to turn all the cards in order. While doing that, keep repeating the shown cards in order so that it becomes easier for you to know where they are. Another strategy is when the game start to bring up new background colors, focus on remember the colors and not the kiko themselves, which will avoid confusion because as seen before, it is possible for example, for a blue kiko to be with a blue, red, yellow or red background. You can always use the mood of the kiko that is on the card if it helps you memorizing them, because you will then be able to say, for example, happy kiko top left, and if you happen to find the find kiko, you’ll know directly where it is and the reason behind that is because it is unique. Have fun.
