Neopets Stowaway Sting is a game that is located on a pirate’s boat where you will be a stowaway sting that is trying to steal from bags of NP to diamonds. Neopets Stowaway Sting will have many enemies set in place, though, so you will have to be careful. Neopets Stowaway Sting is also a game where only one life will be given to you.

Gameplay

Your main objective in the game will be to get the crates that were stolen. You will have to hop on them while using the principal character that is given to you. When you will successfully hop on each tile, you will notice that these crates will be color changing. On the bottom left side of the screen you will see that there is a target color that you ill be able to follow. On the first levels, it will be fairly easy to just on them and to finish the game. However, you will notice that as long as you progress, the more difficult the levels will become because only hopping on the crates will not be sufficient later and the colors will be able to vanish.

It is recommended to know that you will only have one single life during the game and you will not be given the opportunity to have more lives. From there, you will see that you have an HP bar that is your total HP and if you hit an enemy, this bar will be getting lowered until there are none left. For that reason, if you hit an enemy (by going on him or if he decided to go on you) or if you go on spikes, you will be losing your total HP. To avoid that, you will be able to go in a safe spot. The health meter will not be refilling when you finish a level and start a new one, so you will have to keep in mind that you will not be able to spend your health meter simply because the next level will start you fresh. No, instead you will be just giving more harm to yourself. Note that it is recommended that you avoid the danger and obstacles as much as possible because there will not only be the time pressure that the game will set up, but your life counts. If you fall in a whole, the game will be automatically over so make sure it does not happen.

That said, if you jump by mistake or purposely on a tile that has a hole on it, note that there is water below it and if you jump there you will be drowned. The health you have left will not matter there if you jump directly into it. The game will be over if that happens so it is better to jump on the enemy than to jump there if you really have no choice but one of these two. You will notice that they will sometimes even be hidden, so you will be playing and if you don’t pay a good attention to the game screen, you will fall in it. Make sure that you always look where you’re going, by making sure that you do not spend too much time on that aspect.

Game Control

There controls for Neopets Stowaway Sting are really simple to learn and they are easier to master than the game itself. The keys that you will need in order to proceed in the game are currently the up arrow key, which will let your character hop to the north, the down arrow key which will make him go to the south direction, and lastly the left and right arrow keys which will let your character go to a direction on either side. The space bar in this game is not for use. All you will need is the arrow keys that have been previously mentioned. However, since the game is three dimensional, at first you will have a hard time knowing how to move the character. Few tries are necessary in order to get into the game and to start playing seriously.

You be able to handle it, though, because you will be able to also change the game settings in order to set it up to suit your needs.

Colors

You will notice that on the bottom left side of the screen there is a color that will have to be on the crates and that in order to finish the current level and to proceed to the next one.

The brown color is the basic color of the crate. Going from brown to blue crates will happen during the first level, the second level and the third level. On these levels, you will simply have to jump on a crate so that it becomes of the blue color. You will even be able to go back on it later in the level if you want to, and it will remain blue.

When the crates can change color from brown to blue, but if you go on them again they will change back to brown, that will happen on the fourth level, on the fifth level and on the sixth one. On these levels, if you are able to jump on a crate, it will change its color to the blue. However, you will have to make sure that you know if you hop on it once again, it will change back to brown. For that reason, you will have to be quick on these levels. If there are items like bags of NP, etc, there is no problem. Simply go grab them and make sure that the tiles become back again of the blue color because this will be required in order to fully complete the game.

Lastly, for the seventh and eighth level, the crates will be able to change color from brown to blue and from blue to green. The green color will be required in order to finish the levels, however it can go back to brown if you go on them once again. There you will have to be quick because it will take the work two times since you will have to go on the tiles again.

Obstacles

During the game of Neopets Stowaway Sting, there are many obstacles that you will be encountering through the game. These obstacles are no good and they will harm you. When they’re there, it is for your disadvantage and if you happen to go on them you will be losing health. If you stay too long on them you will die. You will not always lose health if you go on them, though, one of them is fatal and this one will cause an instant death, and therefore game over.

The first obstacle is the equipment crates. These equipment crates can be found all over the map after the first level, and they will usually have three different pictures. The picture will be made depending of the height of the crate, however they will all have the same effect, which means that it will take HP from you and it does not matter where it is. The speed will remain the same, so one of these will not take HP out of you in a faster way then the second. Sometimes you will notice that you have no way to proceed unless you pass on them. This can be found, for example, on the 2nd level when there are two crates at the absolute right side of the screen. If that is the case, go on them but quickly. Some other times you will be trying to grab diamonds, or other items and you will notice that there is no much time left and it will vanish and you will actually have to take a shortcut by going on these. Again, make it quick because you will only have your health meter for the duration of all the game, which contain a total of 8 levels.

The second  obstacle is the Kougra, which is an enemy, and the Skeith. These will start popping up from the 2nd level and the location they appear on is random. Even the time they will start appearing on is actually random, but it is shortly after the game starts. They will then start going through different random directions but they will never go on the spikes, so they will always be alive. They will also always avoid the dock hole which is an instant death. However, they will not hunt you, which means that they will be going through their direction. If you happen to be on their way, they will go on you and they will drain HP just like the equipment crates, however, make sure that you leave from that area quickly if it happens because once again, you will only have one health meter for the duration of the game, even if you will be able to do something to replenish it (that will be described later, even though there is also chance that you do not receive this bonus item).

Lastly, there will the Dock Hole which is a hole that can be found on the boat, and it is clear that there is water below it. If you go to that spot, you will be losing the game instantly so you will not have the opportunity to move if you happen to get stuck. If there are enemies on your way, or spikes, and there is, for example, a diamond on the other side of the map and you must pick one of these two, then you will have to go with the spikes (equipment crates) or with the guards simply because they will drain HP from you and will not cause an instant death.

Bonus

There will be also few bonus items that you will be able to grab while you play Neopets Stowaway Sting. They will appear for a short period of time and you will have to make sure you are quick enough, and make it all the way to them before they disappear in a puff of smoke. You will have to hurry up for that reason. Make sure that if there is a Kougra guard, or a Skeith guard that is near them, that you hurry up even more because if they randomly hit the crate the item is on, it will be grabbed by them, thus you will lose precious points, unfortunately, and possibly even health points.

For the first level, there is a total of four items that can be found and you are not obligated to wait them until you finish the game, however it is highly recommended because you will be losing precious points there, even if you’re only going after Neopoints. The second level has a total of five items that you will also be able to grab and from the third level, all the way up to the last level (level eighth), there will be always items that will be appearing and you will have to grab them until they vanish. These items will keep appearing until the time runs out so you will have to make sure that there are only few crates that are not blue (or green) that remains, from where you will be able to go ahead and to touch them when there is just a bit of time remaining.

Below is a list of bonus items that you will be encountering and you will have to read them in order to receive a better idea of the game. Make sure that if you’re going after a super high score or after a trophy, you will have to grab most of them (all if you have the skills).

The Money Bag is the first item that you will see popping up from the first level and it is very common. This is a bag of Neopoints and when it appears, you will have to go grab it to earn 20 extra points. For the first and second level, the bag of NP is the only thing that will be appearing as one of the four and five items for the two rounds, respectively.

The Diamond is the second item which will start appearing from the third level and so on. The diamond will be able to grant you an extra 50 points, which is a lot. Every time you will see one of these, you will have to hunt it fast before your enemies do, and you will also make sure that it does not vanish because the amount of points it will provide is just fundamental.

The Blue Orb is another item that you will be able to find on Neopets Stowaway Sting but it is not like the two that were previously mentioned, that will allow you to receive extra points. The Blue Orb will start appearing from the third level and they will appear every once in a while, which means that the time is currently unknown. It is also not necessarily that they will even appear. If you happen to land on a crate that has that Blue Orb on it, the crates that will be near the one it is one will become also blue (which means that it is like if you have jumped on these spots by yourself). It will be able to provide 3×3 squares that will be able to become of the blue color and from there you will be able to continue playing. If the crate is already blue on the later levels, that can go back from blue to brown, then this is exactly what will happen if you grab it. The crates will go back and become brown. They will not give you any points, though, so it will be best to just not take them if they’re too confusing for you.

The Green Orb will also appear from the third level and even though it is rare, it is just like the one that was previously mentioned but it will provide the green color instead of the blue, which is the advanced version. This Green Orb will be also able to provide a 3×3 set of crates that you will be able to complete if you happen to land on this one. However, unlike the Blue Orb, if the crates have already been colored because you hopped on them, they will not become back again at brown.

Last but not least, the heart is something you will be able to grab when it randomly appears on the game, even though it is not necessary that it does. The heart will start appearing if your health meter is at its third or less than that, then the heart will be appearing and you will be able to grab it in order to fully refill your health bar. Even though this item will not provide any single point, it is fundamental to run after it once it pops up because you will want more health. If there are guards or spikes on your path when you go after it, it is not a problem because your health will be refilled anyway (unless you have like 1 HP left) but make sure that you do not go on the dock holes because you will not be able to grab the heart then, since it will be killing you instantly.

Score & Points

While you play you will be able to collect points, but how exactly? There are many things that will be able to decide what your score will be at the end of every round and, lastly, at the end of the game itself. The score that you got from every round will then be calculated depending many factors and points will be given to you from there. There is a fixed amount of points that you will be able to receive from each level, though, so make sure that you note that.

On the first level, you will be able to receive a total of 54 points that will be added to your total score once it ends (this does not include the bonus items that you will be able to grab from the game).

On the second level, you will be able to receive a total of 48 points that will be added to your total score once it ends (this does not include the bonus items that you will be able to grab from the game).

On the third level, you will be able to receive a total of 40 points that will be added to your total score once it ends (this does not include the bonus items that you will be able to grab from the game).

On the fourth level, you will be able to receive a total of 49 points that will be added to your total score once it ends (this does not include the bonus items that you will be able to grab from the game).

On the fifth level, you will be able to receive a total of 48 points that will be added to your total score once it ends (this does not include the bonus items that you will be able to grab from the game).

On the sixth level, you will be able to receive a total of 40 points that will be added to your total score once it ends (this does not include the bonus items that you will be able to grab from the game).

On the seventh level, you will be able to receive a total of 47 points that will be added to your total score once it ends (this does not include the bonus items that you will be able to grab from the game).

On the eighth level, you will be able to receive a total of 39 points that will be added to your total score once it ends (this does not include the bonus items that you will be able to grab from the game).

Note that during the game, there is a timer that you will have to respect and if it runs out, the game will be over. For that reason, you will have to make sure that you have only a few crates left to make them blue or green, before you wait for the bag of NP or for the items to pop out. The reason behind that is that you will want to be as quick as possible, because the timer will result in an instant death when it runs out.

The amount of time that you will be given for each respective level, from one to eight is 60 seconds from where you will be able to be given a bonus time of 30 seconds if you manage to finish the previous round after exactly 30 seconds, which is half of the time that is given to you. The bonus points are not really important from this game, so doing them quickly in order to receive a lot of bonus points is not recommended simply because the diamonds and bag of NP will earn you more points. Think about it. If you have 25 seconds left because you did everything you were able to in order to finish the round when these are the remaining seconds. That is only 25 extra points. 25 seconds is a lot because it is more than one third of the time that is given to you for each round, and imagine the bag of NP and diamonds that you would have taken instead. Just one diamond is 50 points, so it is really recommended to wait for the items instead of these. If you combine all the bonus points that will be given for you if you make it quick to complete each round, you will most likely not be able to receive more than 100. For that reason, you will want to stick with the items and to finish the round lastly.

Neopets Stowaway String Strategy & Cheats

Make sure that before you complete the first and the second level that you wait and don’t finish the game quickly. Obviously, the first round is so easy that you will want to jump every where and to finish it, however you will want to wait until all of the money bags are collected. For that, simply go on all the tiles (crates) and whenever a bag of NP pops up, go grab it, you will notice that you’ve had the time to complete the tiles and make sure that you leave one. When you are waiting, try to stay in the middle of the screen because it will be faster to go grab the bag that will then pop up, then immediately go on the square in order to finish the level. There is a total of 4 bag of NP on the first level. For the second level, you will want to do the same and there will be a total of 5 bag of NP.

Note that in the second level it is necessary that you go on the spikes in order to finish the level. When you are there, make sure that you don’t sit there for a long period of time. You will have to be quick because you will have to know that the health meter will be with you for the whole game, thus you will want to preserve the points of health that are given to you.

For the later levels, you will want to try and to collect as many bonus items that will grant points as possible. That means every time there is a bag of NP that pops up, go grab it and make sure it doesn’t vanish, otherwise that would be extra points going to waste. You will not only have to hunt for the items, but you will also have to make sure that you go on the tiles in order to make them of the blue (or green color). When there is a diamond, go to it all the way because it will give you 50 points.

Always wait until the “last second” before you finish the round, on rounds 3 and higher because you will have to know that the more you wait, the more items that will pop up and the more points you will be able to receive. This is mainly recommended for those who are going after a high score or after a trophy because they will need the extra points in order to be on the high score table. However, make sure that you do not spend too much time on the game when there only a few seconds left, because you will die. Finishing the game is the thing that you will have to prioritize if you do not want to lose. If the timer runs out, then it will be an immediate death and you do not want that. For that reason, you will want to be effective at the same time.

Make sure that when you are waiting for the timer to diminish in order to get more bags of NP and more diamonds, that you leave at least one tile so that you can finish the round in no time. Also make sure that the tile is somewhere easy for you to go to. You do not want to keep the last tile between guards, spikes and a dock hole.

For the fifth round and up, you will want to start collected the bonuses but you will notice that since the brown crates will be able to become brown again even if you made them blue (because you decided to hop on them once again in order to grab the item), you will then notice that they’re making you lose some time because you will have to step on them again. For that reason, you will want to make them like they were and in order to do so, you will have to jump back on one crate and then to re-take the path you were taking. This way, the tiles can be re filled with the blue color (or green). Alternatively, if you are on the edge of a tile you will be able to jump on the void (for example if you’re on the absolute top left corner, you will be able to press the up or the left arrow key and you will still remain in the same place) and from there you will be able to re-complete the tiles that have had their color changed.

Make sure that if there are enemies that are hopping and it happens that there is a diamond or a bag of NP that has popped up near them, go all the way to it and make sure that you grab it as soon as possible. You do not want them to take it before you, otherwise there will be extra points that you will be losing and this can hurt a lot, because usually it determines who is, for example, the third player on the high score table and the fourth player, which is a gold trophy difference.

Type the cheat code scrap once per game in order to refill your current health bar. It is recommended that you do this only once you do not have much HP left. You will want to use it at least when you have something like 1/10 of your HP.

Make sure that if the guards take bags of NP from you on the second level, that you restart the game because these are precious points you will not want to lose. If you’re a hard core player, you will even want to restart the game if they take the bag of NP or diamond on the third and fourth level.

You will have to wait for the bonuses before you complete a level simply because they will be worth more points than the timer you currently have, and therefore you will be able to collect more points that will be added to your additional count for your advantage.

For the later levels, if you’re not going in a really hard core mode, you will notice that the tiles will have to be made green and if you go on them once again, they will become back at brown so if, for example, you find yourself having a hard time going on them again because you do not have much time on your hands, if there is a bag of NP that is way too far, you may want to avoid it because otherwise it will cost you the game. However, try to not take this as a habit as you will be left with few points if you happen to do that many times.

The key is to play as many times as you can so that you can become better. From there you will be able to play the game very easily from now on. Remember that there are only a total of 8 levels that you will be playing on, which means that the game can be mastered easily if you spend the appropriate time on it. Good luck.
