Daily Quests

Each day, you will be presented with a set of five quests to undertake. These quests fall into six distinct categories, and your daily selection will be determined by random chance.

Once you successfully complete a quest, you can revisit the Quest Log to collect your well-deserved reward. As you claim your reward, the quest will be promptly removed from your Daily Quests list, and you’ll notice a golden checkmark prominently displayed on one of the books at the top of the page.

Moltara Dark Cave Guide

If you’ve made it here, chances are you’re looking for a less-frustrating way to navigate the labyrinth that is the Moltara Dark Cave. Just in case you have no idea what I’m talking about, or what this page is for, let’s have a recap.

Introduction to Moltara

Discovered Year-11, Moltara is a lava-oozing city of gearsmetal, and precious gems. Not to mention the coveted Magma Pool, where, if luck be in your favor, you might just find yourself owning a magma pet.

However, Moltara is also brimming with puzzles, most of which lead to only one thing: the creation of Moltaran Petpets.

Non-Store Moltaran Petpets

Moltaran Petpets are not simply purchased from any petpet store. They first must be assembled at Tangor’s Workshop through a combination of four materials — found only in Moltara by solving five puzzles.

5 Preliminary Puzzles

NOTE
For the purposes of this guide, I will not be explaining the locations of the Obsidian Quarry, Miscellaneous Gears, nor the worms of the Moltara Worm Quest. My summaries are for context. Those of you looking for such specifics should go to —

Puzzle 1 – Obsidian Quarry

Shiny Obsidian is a once-daily prize for visiting the Obsidian Quarry in Moltara City; a relatively easy brain-teaser.

Puzzle 2 – Random Scrap

Scrap Stone and Metal is also an easy item to obtain, if only insofar as out of your control — it is awarded through a Random Event alert while visiting Moltara City or the Moltara Caves. Keep refreshing, it does eventually happen.

Puzzle 3 – Gear Locations

Miscellaneous Gears ramp the difficulty up to medium. They can be found in one of eight random locations in Moltara City — these are a rarity. They appear at least four-times less often than the Scrap Stone and Metal Random Event, and are refresh and time sensitive; in other words, be careful if you see them.

Puzzle 4 – Moltara Worm Quest

Red Moltite is our hard case. You must complete two puzzles in order to locate it. First, the Moltara Worm Quest.

To begin obtain the Empty Lantern by simply visiting Lampwyck’s Lights Fantastic in Moltara City. Then, collect ten worms lurking around Moltara City and the Moltara Caves:

All worms are refresh and time sensitive. Blue, Yellow, Red, and Green are the easiest to find; Orange, Pink and Purple are slightly harder and show up less often; White, Black and Rainbow are liable to drive you insane in their unwillingness to appear. Be patient, take breaks, and check back sparringly; longer breaks have shown to yield more worms.

Once you have all 10 worms, you may fill your Empty Lantern with them, causing it to become a Brightly Lit Lantern. Why is this important? Why, you need light to explore the Moltara Dark Cave!

Puzzle 5 – Navigating The Cave

This small, eerie looking cave is the Moltara Dark Cave, which holds Red Moltite somewhere within its many corridors. However, even with your lantern, you still have to find out which corridors lead where.

This is the basic view of the start of the Dark Cave. To proceed, you must choose left or right, and see where you end up.

Some paths get you staring at a dead end

most have you fleeing from the dreaded lava monsters

both of which send you back to the beginning of the cave.

By this point, I found it exhausting to still be flailing about, clicking around blindly to find the Red Moltite, especially after spending so much time and effort to round up the worms.

So I solved the problem.

Discovery of the Solution

As random as it may seem, the Moltara Dark Cave is actually a long system of patterns. And key to the patterns is as clear as day once realized:

Your path to the Red Moltite is comprised of four turns that correspond to whatever bold sentence you encounter at the start of the cave. No two patterns are the same, and they do not change, no matter how many times you revisit the Moltara Dark Cave, and no matter which cave picture you’re shown.

Let’s start with an example. Say upon entering the Moltara Dark Cave, you are presented with this:

For this guide, take note of the first four words of your sentence–

Does it smell like… ]

Then, simply locate the start of your sentence, and follow the plotted four turns

Does it smell like

RIGHT

LEFT

LEFT

LEFT

Your Red Moltite will then be at hand!

UPDATE (01/28/12):

While the petpet store in Moltara never closes, collecting worms and Red Moltite is a once daily event. After you find Red Moltite within the Dark Cave, the worms will grow tired and no longer light up the lantern.

To fix this, visit Lampwyck’s Lights Fantastic again, where Lampwyck will take your lantern and promise to nurse your sleeping worms back to health by the next day.

However, upon revisiting Lampwyck, you will discover

…that Lampwyck has lost your worms!

You will have to collect the worms all over again, and refill your lantern with them, if you want to collect more Red Moltite.

The Pattern Table

[ Completed! ~ 01/04/2010 ]

If you stumble and make an incorrect turn, do not fret. When you restart at the beginning of the cave, you will be given a new sentence; a fresh start. Simply follow your new sentence to find your Red Moltite.

Red Moltite Petpets

Now that you have your Red Moltite, let’s see about putting it to some good use. Below is a list of Moltaran Petpets that can be created using Red Moltite.

NOTE
This is not a complete list of Moltaran Petpets. These are only the Moltaran Petpets that need Red Moltite to be created. This list was made this way on purpose. 🙂

Magma Pool Connection

UPDATE (06/01/12):

If this refusing face of the Tonu Guard is familiar to you, then you’ve joined the club of Magma Pool rejection. While awake, this Tonu Guard is very selective as to whom may step forward and paint their pet(s) Magma. Does this mean a Magma pet is hopeless for those he turns away?

Fear not! This brute of a guard is known to fall asleep, and provide a 5 minute window of opportunity for each and every Neopian visitor. This event is time sensitive, but the time is different for each user. If you are motivated to find out when the guard is asleep for you, spend a day refreshing at the Magma Pool every five minutes or so. The time at which the guard is sleeping will not change once you find it, but you are only allowed to paint one pet per week.

Currently, there is no known consensus as to why certain players are welcomed by the Tonu Guard. There are, however, a couple of small hints – given to us by both The Neopian Times and the research of fellow users – that pertain to being welcomed, such as:

  • You can only be welcomed on your main account
  • Being welcomed hinges on earning neopoints somehow (Editorial Wk. 433)
  • You do not need to have participated in the Moltara site plot to be welcomed

There is also some speculation that the creation of a Moltaran Petpet may be a requirement to be welcomed, but this is not proven. In theory, the petpet should be created with found materials — not second-hand store bought — and the type of petpet seems not to apply.

UPDATE (08/08/16):

According to rightofthemiddle, making Moltaran Petpets has no bearing on being welcomed by the Tonu Guard. Please check out the Getting Into the Magma Pool page listed below for more information!

Grave Danger Neopets

You might think that petpets are simply sidekicks but you’d be wrong (some might say you are in Grave Danger)! Petpets can go on adventures of their own, and even wear equipment and collect prizes, just like your Neopets. Through Grave Danger in Neovia, you can send a petpet on a mission to bring you back untold fortune!

nifgravedangernf2013-9921888

How to Play Grave Danger

If it is not obvious already, it is essential that you have a petpet to play Grave Danger, which means one pet on your main account needs to have a petpet attached and named.

Screen Shot 2016-01-03 at 10.31.39 AMMeet Dirigibles. He’s going into the Catacombs.

It’s important that you’re careful about which petpet you choose to go on an adventure. When you do this, the pet of which this petpet is attached cannot be pounded, the petpet cannot be removed, and the petpet cannot be zapped.

Equipping your Neopet

This is the point in which you can decide if you’d like to equip your petpet before sending it into the Catacombs. You can equip your petpet with items from the NC Mall that can only be used one time. After that, they disappear! There is only one piece of equipment currently available:

Screen Shot 2016-01-03 at 10.59.53 AM

You don’t need to do anything to the equipment to use it. Simply click “Equipment” under your chosen petpet’s image and you will be prompted to chose something. You cannot stack equipment.

Using NC Mall equipment means your petpet will bring back an additional prize, specific and exclusive NC prize. You can read more about that below, in the Prizes section.

Starting your Journey in Grave Danger

Once you’ve chosen a petpet and equipped them (if you’d like to), then you will be prompted to verify your decision:

Screen Shot 2016-01-03 at 10.33.14 AM

After you’ve done this, the image of your petpet on your pet’s lookup will change to this:

Screen Shot 2016-01-03 at 11.14.20 AM

Next, you wait. You wait and wait and wait. In fact, you can wait anywhere from 3 to 10 hours for your petpet to return with a prize. During this time, you will be provided regular status updates on your petpet should you chose to check up on them:

Screen Shot 2016-01-03 at 10.33.24 AM

Possible statuses:

  • Ate a Grumblebug.
  • Batted around an old ring with a triangular symbol.
  • Begging for scraps at the table of a cultist tea party.
  • Being cuddled by an evil cultist.
  • Being taught how to glorp by a Gelatinous Non-Cube.
  • Chased a Skidget past a sewer, a dragon, and a mob of Meepits. Survived.
  • Chasing its tail on Level 92.
  • Chewing a cultist’s robes.
  • Chewing a slime-covered shoe left by some unfortunate adventurer.
  • Clambering across the keys of an organ as curses fly in all directions.
  • Cowered in fear as a skeleton shot arrows at it.
  • Danced in a circle with Ghost Meepits.
  • Dancing to some sweet jazz music with a friendly cultist.
  • Dug up some bones and played with them for a bit.
  • Exploring an empty corridor.
  • Followed its nose to the scent of cinnamon rolls.
  • Fought a cult dedicated to the destruction of Neopia… then made friends and went out for cupcakes.
  • Found an old shoe! Grrr… Rawr!
  • Found a peanut.
  • Found a treasure room! Wandered away without taking anything.
  • Got covered in slime… Ew. That’s going to take a good scrubbing.
  • Got eaten by a Gelatinous Non-Cube… and was spit back out.
  • Got stepped on at a cultist dance party.
  • Had a sneezing competition with a dragon.
  • Had a staring contest with its doppleganger.
  • Invited to be mascot of a cult. Declined the offer.
  • Located some bacon. Mmm, catacombs bacon.
  • Made friends with a pile of Spyders and played Chase the Vernax.
  • Making friends with a giant Globilol.
  • Nearly got eaten by a Gelatinous Non-Cube.
  • Observing a banjo duel with some interest.
  • Played tag with a Psimouse.
  • Ran away from a hungry zombie.
  • Rolled in a heap of discarded dung cream sandwiches.
  • Rooted through a pile of old cultist robes.
  • Running away from a fire-breathing dragon!
  • Sitting around on Level 83.
  • Stepped in glowing ghostly residue.
  • Tried on some mummy bandages.
  • Walking backward with a pair of mummies.

Grave Danger Prizes

Now onto the best part! You can check back to the Grave Danger homepage when the time of your petpet’s adventure has expired. There, it will have your prize:

Many players wait until midnight NST mature to get their neopets dailies. They swarm the Neopets website by the thousands. However, does this set sights on that their dailies will be less successful, and manage to pay for out fewer items, before thousands of players are statute the similar daily at the same time? I mean, what if the Neopets website is intended to meet the expense of out a certain number of items every hour? For instance, perhaps a wheel gives out a frosty food item subsequent to all hour. Wouldn’t it create more desirability to spin the wheel later, rather than at midnight subsequent to you’re battling thousands of new users at the same wheel? This is as a consequence the defense why I fight in the Battledome in the tardy afternoon or to the fore evening, rather than in the day as soon as I wake up. I don’t know if it’s just me, but it seems in imitation of I get more red Codestones taking into account I fight in the evening (usually 2-4), whereas in the morning, I acquire a lot of junk and no more than 3 tan Codestones. I think the fact that in the morning, I’m joining hundreds if not thousands of other players in the Battledome, which makes the pool of fine prizes smaller and smaller.

I also have the superstition that by donating all of my “junk” items from dailies to the allowance Tree, I’m inviting enlarged luck. every hours of daylight I donate 10-15 items worth less than 100 Neopoints to the allowance Tree, and I irritated my fingers that this will put into action a Fountain Faerie Quest or some new similarly awesome Random Event! Wondering if I was physical too neurotic and superstitious practically my neo dailies, I decided to question the support Neoboard (which has the biggest population of players) what beliefs THEY had approximately their Neopets dailies!

One performer said that she always does her dailies in a stand-in order every morning. She believes that she’ll acquire the best prizes from them if her routine is gruff and exchange from hours of daylight to day. I have to admit, I nodded and unconditionally unconditionally taking into account her! I have a thesame neurosis — I accomplish my dailies in the thesame *order* every day, but at a *different time* all day. So, if I attain daily neopets at 1 pm one day, I do dailies at 6 pm the adjacent day. For some reason, I’m convinced that this will garner the best prizes… weird, eh? I know it’s baseless, but I refuse to change! Another player adamantly insisted that it’s not good to complete dailies one after another, claiming that the website will know we’re excited and offer us bad or no prizes. Seems reasonable, don’t you think?

One engaging superstition was that by having totally few Neopoints and items on hand, you’re inviting bigger luck from the dailies. The artist who suggested this claimed that she never has more than 5,000 Neopoints upon hand, and zero items in her inventory. She believed that the poverty of her account invited better and more positive neopets dailies results and Random Events. I thought this was definitely plausible!

One aspect of the site that I used to deem a daily was pricing the items in my shop. Thanks to the Battledome, I always have a lot of Codestones to sell. However, on the supplementary hand of pricing my shop every day, I now regard as being it a “weekly”; namely, I forlorn price my shop on Friday evenings, afterward everyone is home from assistant professor and work, and appropriate the Neopets website by the thousands. Codestones become inflated then, which spells fine things for my bank account!

One performer insisted that checking the Faerie Quests page was share of her dailies. Unlike like other Faeries, the Crafting Faerie nevertheless allows you to use the Shop Wizard, and hence it’s hard to tell whether you have a Crafting Faerie quest that’s blocking you from receiving other Faerie quests. I have the thesame neurosis! I even bookmarked the Faerie Quests page on my browser, and I click upon it on all half hour that I’m upon Neopets, ready to reject the Crafting Faerie quest if there is one. Checking this page counts as one of my dailies, and it’s interesting to know that I’m not alone!

A frosty supplementary aspect of dailies, nowadays, is the unbelievable selection of Fortune Cookies at the NC Mall! People snap taking place cookies by the dozens, like the most popular ones innate Faerie Quest Fortune Cookies and Lab Ray Fortune Cookies. These new additions to our dailies are fun and cheap, and I love to buy Faerie Quest Fortune Cookies several become old a year in the hopes of getting a Fountain Faerie quest from one of them. I think this is a good artifice to mount up pizzazz to our dailies!

I celebrated all of the players upon my thread who had unique, self-imposed dailies. Many people admitted that they had a lot of goals that they take action hard on accomplishing all single day. For instance, one artiste said that she was trying to acquire the Kadoatie avatar, and got going on at 2 am all daylight to feed Kadoaties at the Kadoatery. option performer wanted to entire sum 5000 omelettes (and is currently at 3744). A Battledomer wanted to accumulation the strength of her pet by 1-2 points per day. And still different player, who happens to be a close Neofriend, is aggravating to invest a sum of 10 million Neopoints in the buildup Market, and invests some Neopoints each day. One of my own self-imposed neopets dailies is submitting questions to the Editorial! I’ve gotten 15 questions published as a result far, and my overall direct is 50!

Another self-imposed daily of mine is checking Neoboard 7. Neoboard 7 is the board that pops occurring during plots, events, and the Winter Starlight Celebration. Players swarm to this board all morning like plots and comings and goings are afoot, in order to contact instructions not quite the latest steps, as competently as learn roughly any glitches or errors that might consequences from not doing the steps properly. During plots and events, scanning Neoboard 7 becomes one of my dailies, and I happily bookmark it upon my browser, as well as the Sunnyneo and Jellyneo guides!

Thanks for reading this article! It was fun to write just about our neuroses and superstitions, especially because they all create a lot of sense. I was dexterous to write so much about them, and couldn’t discount any of them! I have to admit, I extremely following most of them, which was beautiful interesting!

Enjoy your dailies, my fellow players! I know that they constitute the happiest half hour of your Neopets lives, and I tone the same way!

Neopets Jhudora’s Bluff

Neopets Jhudora’s Bluff is located in Faerieland, on Jhudora’s Cloud. There will be standing the Dark Faerie Jhudora, where you will be able to do quests for her. Neopets Jhudora’s Bluff quests will not be available if you’re doing Illusen’s quests at the same time because both of these faeries are rivalries.

jhudora9-5446388

Gameplay

At any time during any given day, you will be able to do a quest for Jhudora. This is not a random event where Jhudora will ask you to do a quest for her. Instead, you will be able to decide whether or not you want to help her out. Remember that you will not be able to ask her for a quest if you’re already doing one for Illusen, simply because she hates her. You will also be able to get the Evil Jhudora avatar if you complete one of her quest during February 4th.

Note that because of the limited time of 16 minutes 40 seconds, you will be able to use the Shop Wizard to complete Jhudora’s quests. However, if you fail to bring her the requested item because you took too much time (more than 16 minutes 40 seconds), you will get back to the first level and if you were on the high score table of Jhudora’s Bluff, you will also be removed from there. You will then have to wait 12 hours, just like if you’ve finished the quest to be able to receive another quest from her.

After finishing a quest for Jhudora, you will be able to seek another quest, after 12 hours of time, but the rarity of the items will increase. For the first quests, you will be fine with the quests she will impose, but after that, the items will become mostly unbuyables, in the millions NP range. There will be even a point where even if you have the NP, you will not find any seller for the item you’re looking for. Look for the Jhudora’s Bluff guide to get advice and ways to get to the last level, which is 50.

For the first levels of Neopets Jhudora’s Bluff, sometimes she will ask you for unbuyables items, which means that they are items that can not be traded between Neopians. If you find yourself in that situation, keep calm. There is a store that has infinite amount of stock and this is where you will be able to go in order to finish the quest. The store is called Neohomes Superstore, where you will be able to visit from Neopia Central.

Neopet’s Jhudora’s Quest Scores & Points

Just like Illusen’s Glade, there is a high score table for Jhudora’s Bluff, which will reset every month. If you’re going after a high score or after a trophy, you will have to know how exactly the pointing works. Just by completing one quest of Jhudora, you will be given 1,000 points. Know that there is a maximum time of 16 minutes 40 seconds for every quest, which is a total of 1,000 seconds. Each single second is considered like a bonus point. Every time you waste a second, you will also lose a bonus point. For that reason, you will have to be fast when completing quests.

Through the month, the scores that are obtained by Jhudora’s quests will increase simply because the quests are cumulative, like seen before, and are able to go to higher levels where the limit is level #50. You will be able to complete a quest every 12 hours. If you’re going after a trophy, you will have to start at level 1. If you fail one of her quests, not only you will have to wait 12 hours to be able to receive another one, but you will be removed from the high score table if you’ve been there during that specific month. It is always recommended that you try for the trophy at the first the of the month, because the HST will reset then, for all games.

Neopets’ Jhudora’s Quest Cheats

If going after the trophy, you will have to get the quest done in the minimum amount of time, which means that you should be ready. Because there is chance that you receive a non-trading neohome item during the first few quests, copy the URL of the Neohomes Superstore so that you will be able to get there to purchase the item Jhudora is looking for, then to finish the quest in a manner of seconds. For the later levels, where the items will get harder to find, try to start the quest(s) when there is a lot of people online, and when the boards are active. This way, you will be able to make a notice so that they will know you will be seeking a specific r99 item. If, however, no one have the item, you can try to search them through the galleries and hope that the owner of these items is online at that time, even if the chances are very slim.

Finally, there is another Avatar that you can receive, the Jhudora’s Cloud Avatar, which is obtained when you successfully complete Jhudora’s quest #20.
